welcome to OSF, get your post count up and give us all a look at the capri. We didn't get them with a 2.3 here, I assume that's a cologne V6 2.3?

thanks everybody for the welcoming. The car was originally a 2.0S but one of the previous owners decided to fit it with this 2.3 wich probably came out of a granada. I am the cars 4th owner and the one before me left it laying around the yard for about a year so nothing works right in it.. It is curently completely oil less, both motor and gearbox(bled it all out). Bought it for 2000 euro, but not cos it was worth that much, just because there werent many to choose from and i really wanted a capri.

My curent plan is to get it back to shape, fit a x-pack and wide tires on it and then see how much power its lacking. I could put a 2.8 carb or injection, only thing is that cause of stupid legislation over here, i would have to pay an extra 1300 euro for the "MOT" ppl to test and maybe aprove it. So far i decided to find a better place for that money somewhere on the car.

I posted pictures of the car in the garage, so i think you can see them there.

thank you all. a notice, the bull bar in the front was there cos of safety regulations, now i think its quite illegal.. interesting how the front spoiler was covered up, ill take some better shots. about the condition, i guess the holes in the floor didnt come out in the pictures, ill cover that too. now, about the xpack.. well, i cant get an xpack from here so ill probably have to order one from the UK or Germany so, if you guys know a good manufacturer, im more than interested.

p.s. in order to get my 10 posts ill keep posting here if its ok

interesting story today:

as the engine had no oil and so did the gearbox and the car wouldnt start (startermotor wouldnt turn) i decidet to take a shot at them. so i got some motor oil, gearbox oil, a new set of battery connectors and started messing. the result was the motor was spinning but wouldnt fire up, tho the fuel got to the carb. i started checking all the plug cables and they werent fireing. checked the distributor, looked ok (to me), changed the inductor (dont know if thats the name, the thing that goes into the distributor) and still nothing. then my dad shows up, we fill him in and he says its got no battery. like doh dad, the engine spins well, its got plenty battery. fire it up he says, i wanna see.. guess what.. the engine spins and fires up at the first turn of the key.. dammit.. after 2 hours of messing about, he comes and does nothing and the car starts at the first turn. well, now thats what i call experience, lol.

ill be back with updates, im curently considering taking the car to a rally mechanic, the shop is fully equiped, bodywork, mechanics and paint. might be a bit pricey but it will surely turn up a nice car.

checked smith&deakins, they do have a xpack for ~600 pounds. on CCI there's no catalogue so i requested one via email. so, basically no one ever bought from m-99? cos, they do look kinda fishy, i mean, they do all sorts of things.

just looked at ur car in the "garage" looks well hard!!! actually really like the 'A' bar on the front, not really sure why i do, but hey!! good luck with the xpack! hope you can find one!

i have a clip but i cant post the link yet. its on streetfire net under '78 Ford Capri 2.3 V6 first run

pretty bad quality. the A bar was put on so the owner could say he has a bumper, since we have to have bumpers on our cars here. no cop ever sayd anything about the lack of bumpers or the loud sound. i only got pulled over once for not wearing my seatbelt and i took it out of the trunk(the disconected seatbelt), showed it to the officer and he started laughing and let me go with no fine or warning.

hello, its me again. mates, im in a pickle, i found the mk2 and mk3 xpacks on fibresports.co.uk at 350 pounds, plus the 150 pounds for shipping. That takes it up to 500 pounds and a price i could live with. Problem is, after a few emails with fibresports i asked why it says they sell wheel arches and not wings. The answer was that the bodykit with the full front wings, rear wings and spoiler is 448.00 punds, wich kinda just misses my budget plans for a xpack. What i need is to know if i can find one anywhere else, or if someone who fitted a mk3 pack could tell me how to do with the xpack wheel arches. Must mention the people at fibresports didnt show me any pictures of what they produce and sell (the mk3 or mk2 pack)

Cheers

P.S. i still cant upload any images
