Dom Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Hey guys the black cossie capri is going to Emerald tomorrow, booked in for 10am so as soon as I get back i'll post up the dyno results. Hoping for good things!
Dom Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Right here we go lads 213.5 bhp / 6570rpm 208.1 lbft / 4458rpm We're pretty pleased, the only downer being 5th gear wasn't being co-operative so we had to run in 4th and we ran out of revs But now at least it doesn't stall whenever you try to pull away and it doesn't stall everytime you turn the steering wheel Sorry its abit big, i've tried to resize it but it'd not having any of it Now its time to supercharge it!
RETRO_AL Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 nice m8 how much do they charge if you dont mind me asking
Dom Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 250 quid plus VAT. No bad considering we got the at 10 and didn't finish till about 2:30
orionmojo Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 out of a mk1 capri! thats alot more than my crossflow
caprifan Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 out of a mk1 capri! thats alot more than my crossflow 215bhp is standard for a BOB 24v cossie lump though..
Dom Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 215bhp is standard for a BOB 24v cossie lump though.. Yup except you have to ask yourself 1 question. When they quote that are they quoting the power of the engine or at the wheels?
caprifan Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 too true mate.....I'm not knocking it mate...would love a decent engine in mine
Dom Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 I know your not mate, I reckon before transmission losses etc it's got to be about 250bhp at the flywheel. I think the dip near the top end is where the exhaust manifold are choking it abit. Looking for a supercharger at the minute, my dads even tempted to go and make one out of a turbo You should get yourself one, save ya pennies No longer are the days of snaking it up the road in the wet, it does it in the dry too!
antz Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 nice!!!! my rolling road session was £60 at BOGG BROTHERS.
Fiesta Steve Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I reckon before transmission losses etc it's got to be about 250bhp at the flywheel. I hate to say it m8, but the graph you have put up IS power at the flywheel.
Dom Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Nevermind then, it's not MY car after all
bortaf Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 What ECU are you running? and i take it it's a BOB engine?
bozie Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 sounds good when mine is done its got to go on the rollers to be set up does anyone no of any good places to get it set up in essex.
Dom Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 http://www.dyno-plot.co.uk/dyno/dynoplo ... corpio.htm Thats the graph from a bog standard scorpio, so in all, i'm a little more pleased
Fiesta Steve Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Must be something wrong with that if its only got 144 bhp
Dom Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 I thought you'd try and piss on my parade! (sounds best if said in a welsh accent) Only jokin!
Fiesta Steve Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I thought you'd try and piss on my parade! (sounds best if said in a welsh accent) Only jokin! lol, compared to that engines your is excellent
Dom Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 It's strange because the power seems to start dropping off whereas on our one it's still climbing pretty well albeit peak torque has long buggered off. What difference would it have made if 5th gear had been working?
Fiesta Steve Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 No difference. You should get the same reading in all gears. These machines are capable of calculating hp regardless of gear ratio
johnny_h Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Hey Fiesta steve how do you tell if it is BHP at the flywheel or wheels and can you tell what mine is in my blog? Ta
