emu Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 http://www.wolfbane.com/vreg.htm Once id worked out what the first bit of the site wibbled on about it all made perfect sense If I understand it right then the last two letters of the three is the location identifier. So mine came from Bournemouth I think? So at least I know the first owner was probably a careful old man who never went above 25mph

atomic punk Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 The Cortina came from Eastbourne originally, and yes it was a 'retirement' car - did 20,000 miles between 1980 and 1992 The Escort is Portsmouth registered but the original owners lived in Swanage - was witht he same family until I got my greasy mitts on it
Mr.Sumo Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Mine came from Pakistan What the car or me curry i"m currently scoffing If Emus correct mine came from London .... what part is anyones guess ! Can"t see how though , its only had one other owner...and they are in Woking
DEP Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 When i bought FOE a little over 8 years ago now, it had a Mike Young sticker in the rear window, They were based just up the road from Burtons. And did you know i m only the third owner of FOE
emu Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 If Emus correct mine came from London .... what part is anyones guess ! Can"t see how though , its only had one other owner...and they are in Woking From what I can understand of my link, the location isnt precise, its the location of the DVLA office that the car was first registered at. To use a local (to me) example, the car could have been bought from a dealer in Gosport or Fareham. But because Portsmouth is the nearest DVLA LO thats what the plate traces back too. I THINK That said, FOE would seem to be birmingham, which is obviously not very local to Burtons so it could all be bunkum
