over_head_cam Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 1296cc not 28792cc That gives it away m8 It might have a v6 in it, but the reg doesn't match a 2.8i

over_head_cam Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Scrapped? Where's your OSF spirit And it might not have an LSD Not all 2.8's did. Someone more clued up on capri's would know
kirk10 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Report Posted August 27, 2007 i thought all of the 2.8i capris did
spooner Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 on a a plate, don't think it will have a lsd if you do break it,i'll have a deal on the rest
kirk10 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Report Posted August 27, 2007 ok spooner i will see how it goes i can still use the back axel if it hasnt got an lsd just hope it has dont think they will let me jack it up to check first tho lol then the front suspention the rest will be up to you then
Admin Vista Posted August 27, 2007 Admin Report Posted August 27, 2007 On an A reg it will definitely not be LSD equipped unless someone has retro fitted it afterwards There were 4 distinct phases of 2.8i Early 4 speeders with the chequered interior (no LSD) 5 Speeders with the 2 tone grey velour seats (No LSD) 2.8i Specials with a half leather interior and colour coded grill introduced at B reg (LSD equipped) 280 Brooklands with a full leather interior, 15" wheels and colour coded grill (LSD equipped) If you're buying it in the hope of picking up a cheap LSD there's a 99% chance you're wasting your money.
Copey Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 thats too good to be scrapped, please dont!!
kirk10 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Report Posted August 27, 2007 i just need a back axel for me mk1 esort project so that will do the job if it has a lsd it will be a bonus if not theres no worries i will still fit it
kirk10 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Report Posted August 27, 2007 so am i right in thinking i can use the front suspention and brakes complete just transfer them simple bolt on atlas axel no lsd
Arched Escy Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 got an old issue of classic ford here and it says that LSDs were optional on all 2.8i's,but standard on 2.8i specials
Alan G Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Front struts should be billies.. bolt on conversion for your escort as far as I know and should lower the ride height -1"
