Where is the best place to get uprated alt's? I need one that generates more charge as the stereo goes off after awhile and it stalls when i flash the lights

What ampage alternator have you got? I think the standard one was a paltry 36 Amps, but later models Ford ones should go straight on and give ample, I got a 55 Amp one for £5 from a breakers yard and it bolted straight on and is still giving sterling service 2 years later.

mate check your earth connections first. there should be a chassis earth and engine earth straight to the negative side of the battery.

 

 

My brothers stereo would turn on and off with the indicators cos of this

I fitted a recon RS turbo one on mine, was a tight fit (used a slightly smaller belt as it rubbed the battery tray support, only did this after fitting WCXM) but has a output of 70amp (so I'm told), more than enough for my needs think it cost me £30

1 off a ka is ment to be a stright fit,and RACE do a pulley kit aswell for it,70amp if its 1 from a lux model

sierra/granada Ghia with a pinto run the right alt 70 amp as well

just swap the end casings round if it's wronge handed
