I remember when I had my old Forest Arch'd MK2 1600 Sport and that was runnin so bad once upon slowing down for traffic lights etc

 

Po..po.p..pop..pop..pop..po.p....BANG ! as a big flame shot out of the back of the exhaust LOL sounded the nuts tho :lol:

Same here the lil fiesta used to always stick flames out the back on the over run

well, im going to leave it as is, it goes well, ticks over suprisingly well considering the engine spec , if i give it a rev afetr ticking over a while it sounds ace, with the way it is it sounds like a real naughty pinto when coming off the gas.

also removed the viscous cooling fan today, defo spins up nicer now without that nasty whooshing sound...

gona have the head off in the week and do stem seals at least and maybe a bit of flow work to the ports as i have nothing better to do really.

i had a morris minor that done this. made two oaps jump 6ft of the floor :twisted:

Mine started doing that more and more recently. Love it, sounds awesome!! makes me feel like a rally slag.

1 of my old mk2's on twin 40's did that alot too, multi story carparks are best...........

could be timing slightly retared so gasses are being ignited late and remain burining when exhaust valves are open, sounds ace but may burn out your exhaust valve seats in time. More likely just over fueling on overrun as every twin webbered escorts i have owned have done
