Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 25, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 25, 2007 In case it gets too hot and you get thirsty mate And yes, mine's been on a few times in the last few weeks
Trevmk3 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 maybe so the air isnt really dry? but its been pissing it down here so the air isnt dry the central heating and fire are on in my house, im too hot, its my Mother and brother that want it all on i was happy sat there in t-shirt and shorts personally i think they should put extra clothing on to get warm
Trevmk3 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I dont have it best way if you ask me its one less bill to pay
sab6024 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 We don't have it either. But all my oldies have had it on pretty much all summer
Mr Sam Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 warmer and a heck of alot cheaper than central heating..........well free actually
Copey Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Also someone told me to put a cup of water in each room as it hasn't been on for along time why is this? i will ask my Dad, he's a manager at a heating company we havn't had the heating on yet, had the coal fire lit though, now THATS old skool!!
Nettles Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 My central heating went back on a couple of weeks ago. There’s no way I’m gonna sit there with three jumpers and four pairs of socks on freezing my arse off! The only thing I want cold is my beer.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 lindsey tried to put it on one night but i turned it off after 1/2 hour its still too hot for me

ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 i have as my house doubles up as a fridge its so cold back in yorkshire Wear your flat cap and cuddle your whippet. That'll keep you warm
4parajon Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Think I'm on the change as the missus has had it on a couple of times and Ive been sweating like a rapist with it on
tazrocks88 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 warmer and a heck of alot cheaper than central heating..........well free actually im in this club not light the wood burner yet this year but it is so much warmer, cheaper and heats faster than central heating altho my house has both tho we rarely use the central heating still a month or 2 befor it gets cold tho this is nice temperature
MK2Ed Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Also someone told me to put a cup of water in each room why is this? To increase the humidity rather than 'orrible dry air Though works best when water is close to rad...
Mrs O/H/C Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 CENTRAL HEATING DRIES OUT THE AIR..WATER HELPS STOP THIS..NO SORE THROATS HAD MY LOG FIRE ON IN THE EVENING... BLISS !!
Admin Vista Posted September 26, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 26, 2007 fire is fun That's what Arthur Brown thought too: - I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you Fire, I'll take you to burn Fire, I'll take you to learn I'll see you burn Back on track , no heating on in my house yet it's still plenty warm enough you bunch of northern fairies
surfingturnip Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 I'll have you know it's been 7 degrees and below here all week, not counting wind chill, and we've not had our heating on yet (used the wood burner tho)
