you all still proud to be british ??

Yes, I am fiercly proud of being British.

Me too!

wow fiercly - thats very proud. why though - explain. what defining moment of modern day britain makes you so proud of it?

I'm proud of the fact that Britain is a free country where people have the right to freedom of speech, to vote against governments we don't agree with. We aren't afraid to get involved and help people who can't help themselves and we offer sanctuary to those that might otherwise live horrendous and short lives in their countries of birth. It's easy to forget all of the above as we've grown up with it and never known any different, but I've seen what happens to people when they lose even the most basic of their rights and it isn't pretty.

British and proud? Damn right.

Things I think they should ban (specifically) while you are driving:

Blinking. Just think what might happen in the 'blink of an eye'.

Sneezing. OMG you might lose concentration for a whole second!

Changing gear. What a distraction

Looking in the RVM. It's so confusing to see the road going backwards

Glancing at the dash to check your speed. Keep your flippin eyes on the road you irresponsible fools!

Any more?

While we're at it why don't we make 'doing things to distract other road users' an offence punishable by taking more hard-earned? eg:

Your headlights are supposed to point at the road, NOT THE BACK OF MY FOOKING HEAD YOU C**NT. GET A PROPER MOT!

You are not permitted to make use of ALL the lanes on any given highway, especially at junctions where you pull across in front of me without warning. Choose the correct lane and stay in it please

Brake lights are important. If another road user informs you that you have no brake lights (which is likely to cause an accident, your response should not be "So"

Please forward any other of your motoring grievances to:

Grumpy Old Git, c/o OSF, England. Thank you ;)

F****** right mate.... how about adding "Fog lights front and rear should only be used in poor visability (Is it 6 yards, meters or feet???) and.... FOG!":evil:

Well, it is easy to vent frustration out on a public board, but as the great british public always take eveything lying down, nothing will ever change.

Personally, it is my car, I own it, I do not owe any finance on it, I tax it, I insure it, I make sure it has a valid MoT, I always clean it every week.... so therefore, I will do what the f*** I want to whilst in it (within reason)... i.e. smoke, drink, and munch a choccy bar.

I don't however and never have: drink & drive, drive like an ar*e hole, use a phone while driving!

I like to get in my car, drive where I have to go, treat other road users how I like to be treated, and keep everyone safe. If I am doing that, whats the problem? As has already been said, there are plenty of drivers out there who should not be driving, why can't the authorities concerntrate on re-educating or removing these people? Theres a thought, but it was to easy, so therefore, they wont do it... far to easy and makes more sense!

Oh yeah, in answer to the other question... No, I am no longer proud to be British!

Yes, I am fiercly proud of being British.

I've thought about this quite a bit.

I was brought up in the '70s (I left school in 1976), and I often think of the 'good old days'.

The good old days of the three day week, black and white tv, the local park being full of rat infected rubbish because the bin men were on strike, dog shit in the park, the home telephone being a party line so if the other house was using it, we couldn't, Barry Manilow, Vietnam, power cuts, Watergate, video recorders that cost £400, Margaret Thatcher and pet rocks to name but a few.

Oh what a great time we had, and don't we have such a very hard time now?

Why am I fiercly proud to be British? I think I am racist in this respect, because I think that we Brits are a cut above the rest, in all sorts of areas. The Americans even speak English :ykt: English is the international business language.

Would I want to be French? No way! Italian, German, Ukranian, American? Nope. I am happy with my lot here thanks. It might be far from perfect, but then isn't everywhere else? The Americans haven't got an NHS. Their taxation system relies on the people submitting returns, their tv programmes have more adverts than programmes, they have Billy Graham ffs!

I for one am staying put.

Will they ban farting? .Because of CO2 emisions.

Farting is methane not carbon dioxide...

Makes me feel sick sometimes to think of all the people that fought in both the WW's...

My grandad fought there for Britain, and for what??

Fook smoking,a guy driving past me today stopped in the road to ask for directions,as i was talking to him i noticed he wasnt wearing his seat belt nor was his mrs,but what made me really angry was his son sitting in a child seat not strapped in either  .

I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year daughter and they go nowhere without being strapped in.I know its a pain but c'mon is it really worth it with all these idiots on the road.

Im on the road all day and i see so many times, parents getting into their cars and only putting their own belt on.Half the time they dont even do that.

Makes me soooo

I lost a brother in a car crash 10 years ago and yes he didnt wear his seat belt, probly why i feel this way.

Rant over.
