DarrenM Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 Basic spec is 302 Ford V8 with Edelbrock alluminium heads, inlet and cam, roller rockers, Eagle I beam rods etc. Tremec 5 speed, LSD, Capri Sport 280 front and Cosworth rear brakes. Bilstein front and AVO rear shocks, axle location kit, Brooklands seats, Compomotive ML's. Imperial Blue. The car has been in CF and Fastest Fords DVD. It pulled 151.7 mph at Bruntingthorpe with the 3.09 diff, I put it in 5th at 140 mph! It did a 13.7 @ 109 at Brunters but then did a 12.7 @ 109 at Shakey (prepped track). It handles really well as the engine is about the same weight as an Essex now it has the alluminium bits.
Copey Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 wanna hear that thing!!! shame the number plate is 320 not 302 gorgeous capri!!!

DarrenM Posted October 7, 2007 Author Report Posted October 7, 2007 Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. In the garage was my '66 Fastback Mustang but I sold it
DarrenM Posted October 7, 2007 Author Report Posted October 7, 2007 Good choice of engine. Thanks mate. Kev from C.R.A.P built the engine for the previous owner a few years back. It goes well considering the gearing is crap! (3.09 Diff and 225/50/15 tires!) and is heavy.
turner Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 LOVE IT !!! looks sweet and bet it sounds awesome.
ASBO CAPRI Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Good choice of engine. Thanks mate. Kev from C.R.A.P built the engine for the previous owner a few years back. It goes well considering the gearing is crap! (3.09 Diff and 225/50/15 tires!) and is heavy. Kev built my 383 chevy also, H beam rods, forged pistons, Pro action 200cc heads and a nice comp cams solid roller. Should run 11s once i sort gremlins out
Guest Airbag Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 i seen this one on fast fords dvd. it's awsome. Wanna sell it? i'll give u my right leg!
bmxdave Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 What was it like to fit the 302? Are you using a standard 5 speed box too? Its very tempting to get hold of a 1.6 or 2.0 laser with a good shell and drop a v8 in. Also, would you mind if i asked for a general idea of what itd cost just to put the engine in? Id do as much as possible by myself of course.

Look for a 302 with a T5 gearbox. It's got Jaguar rubbers on fabricated engine mounts. Big rad moved forward for room, twin elec fans. Fabricated gearbox mount, custom prop, modified tube headers etc. The guy I bought it off had £14k invested!
bmxdave Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Its very tempting Cheers for that. Ill wait until my mk1 is finished them ill sum up my options. A Turbo or V8 Capri has always been on the wishlist.
