Col-ashtonmobile Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 my mate switched off & put the grinder down then caught his hand on the spinning disc as it was still slowing down , the smell of burnt flesh was awful , always wear gloves and just hold the grinder tighter m8

emu Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 am bad never were goggles and gloves not exist in my dads garage and short sleeve tops loads of itching after using the angel grinder. you would think i would learn Ive touched my hand with the grinder already lol Considering that 'Old skool anglia' has just been told off for not using protection, why would you think its a good idea to admit to doing it yourself??? Get down to B&Q and get a pair of goggles and gloves. We dont want anyone finding out they cant call 999 in the dark with a bloody stump Apart from anything else blood and snot is a right pain to clean up.

Mr Sam Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 where are your axle stands? and your safety gloves just what i was thinking, caught my hand real bad the other week how it didnt miss any veins i do not know and if it did catch one i would of been pretty fooked......under the car a good few miles from home....and i was wearing gloves i also wear ear muff's too apparently it only take 15minutes of exessive decibels to cause permenant damage, used to use chainsaws disk cutters grinders etc without hearing protection but when your ears are still ringing the next day you soon wisen up and deffo goggles

Cookie Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Na fook that live life on the edge, balance car on breeze blocks on an uneven drive, don't use gloves or goggles as it adds to the danger factor, and if your feeling really adventerous do it out in the rain and make sure the extension lead has frayed wires This is another cookie public safety announcment ps--listening to me could shorten your life
