Jon_Langley Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Just thought I'd put a couple of pics up of my runaround for you all to have a look at. Although it's looking a bit more like this these days It's only a 957cc, but I've added a few parts to it that I had lying around. The first pics are with allycats (now for sale) and some coilovers. It now sits on mk2 XR shocks and chopped springs XR anti roll bar and panhard rod. I've also put the VW roofrack on there, and opening front 1/4 windows. Here's a pic or two of my other inferior car I've gone a bit crazy with this one, and the spec is pretty big. It's almost ready to come back out to play, but I'll probably wait until after the winter
Burns Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 lovin the mk1 did the alleycats scrub at all?
Jon_Langley Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 Thanks for the replies. The alleycats did rub every now and then, but that's mainly because I didn't roll the arch lip at all. I put the coilover suspension on it off the mk2 just for Ford Fair, so without the mega stiff springs it wouldn't have been drivable really. Here's an up to date spec list of the Mk2 for anyone that's interested (with it not being proper old skool or whatever). Engine: 2.0 Zetec 45 DCOEs 60mm trumpets and airbox off a Hillman Ported and polished head Port matched 70mm Dunnell inlet manifold Dunnell ECU Kent FZ2002 cams Vernier pulleys JE Forged pistons Eagle rods ARP bolts throughout 11.6 Compression ratio Knife edged crank Balanced everything CVH EFi lightened flywheel Alloy underdrive crank pulley Baffled sump ST170 Exhaust manifold Side exit exhaust Runs about 210bhp at the minute Trans Stage 2 BC gearbox Quaiffe ATB diff AP 4 paddle clutch B&M quickshift Chassis Avo coilover suspension 300lb front springs 600lb rear springs 1.5 degree negative camber rear axle Rose jointed panhard rod made of thicker tubing Strengthened anti roll bar Rose jointed roll bar drop links Polybushes everywhere else Welded in rear strut brace Rear chassis rail brace welded in Front strut brace 7 point rollcage Fully seam welded Quickrack steering rack 14X7 Banded Citroen BX steels 195/45 Toyo Proxes Brakes XR calipers Grooved discs Mintex pads Mk2 Escort bias pedal box Braided hoses Exterior Brake ducts moulded into front bumper Fibreglass bonnet and boot skins 2mm polycarb windows rivetted into place Englemann Opel Manta mirrors Interior Corbeau Pro Sprint seats 5 point RJS harnesses Autometer tacho Proform shift light Alloy fuel tank That's most things, although there's many more one-off/uprated bits on the car.
Fiesta Steve Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Try and stick to the Mk1's lads or I'll have to send you to the corner !! Nice Mk1 btw
Jon_Langley Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I have owned more mk1s than mk2s, but this mk2 was my first Fiesta so I have a lot of love for it and it's also a good shell underneath, which isn't too easy to find these days! I like both models in different ways though I guess. The mk2 is good in the fact it has a bit more space in the engine bay to house the Zetec. That's not an invite for you lads to start raving on about xflows
MattJ Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Thought i recognised the Mk1 from the XR2.com stand at FordFair. Both nice examples.
