Dom Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 We changed the engine, gearbox, diff and wheels on the capri and the speedo is near enough spot on, only 2mph out when messured with the speed camera detector jobby
60ftman Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 We use a mountain bike speedo which takes a pulse from one of the front wheels. It's pre-programmed with the diameter of the wheel when you fit it, and is apparently accurate to within a couple of % up to 150mph (don't know what happens above 150). It has a trip on it (which doesn't get wiped when the battery goes flat) and therefore complies with every aspect of the law. Can be swapped to KMH at a moments notice. Cost about 30 notes from Halfords bike department. We're not proud!
