Mk 1 Mark Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Got a pm to tell about this.....and had to reply.. About postman being retards and losing parcels and think that where on strike about pay....tinker lol Originally Posted by GJUK Yeh whats that about, bloody retards are always losing my parcels. They want a pay rise for that do they Before you post a reply get your facts straight... I work for royal mail I will put it in simple terms for those who think it about a pay rise...... If you have a morgage and paid it for 18 years with 2 years left to pay..... Then you bank says you have to for another 7 years but get nothing extra... This is whats happening to our pensions... They want us to pay into our pensions for another 5 years and what your entitled to @ 60 you will now get @ 65 But paying into your pension for an extra 5 years and get the same pension you was entitled to @ 60.. Secondly they want to introduce times of attendance where from one week to the next you could be on earlies one week ...Lates the next then nights on different functions....... Oh we dont need you on the lorries today but you can do a delivery in x y z... Well that is a few of the issues.. Move you time of attendence where it suits managment.. Also where we are in the EEC.. If you leave royal mail on EVR Early Volentary redundencies you get £1000 for every year worked. Now they want to introduce a goverment backed system where you get 1 weeks money for every year... So the managment want to do a way with the union...Move times of attendence when it suits them, There is a sick leave procedure that they want to scarp, Giving line mangers the right to sack you on the spot.. No union reps on the floor to ask advice!! if they want to move to A) another office Or B)another shift or function!! So as postman we will not know what we are doing from one week to the next!! And if you think we are all retards, Remind me of that @ a show soon!!! And i will show you what a 6 foot postman stupid retard can do to thick people who generalize about things they know nothing about ..ALRIGHT!!! __________________
GJUK Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 And my replys on Turbosport, youve mis understood me completly. Regards! Jon
jimmyesh Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 The post office has unfortunately just followed all the other public "services" into the gutter in this country and it's the fault of our New Labour-No Shame Government I don't begrudge the posties themselves for striking as they have every right to be worried about their pensions etc - It's the fault of whoever manages this farce. I remember when we had twice-daily deliveries and after that when our mail got delivered early in the morning. Now we are lucky to get it at all if it hasn't been stolen or lost Other "services" that have gone down the toilet: Immigration NHS Public Transport Prison Police CSA Dept of Social Security (piggy-bank for benefit-scrounging chavs) Education... ...The whole Government!!
GJUK Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I agree. Cossymax has (i think) accepted my appology for my poorly worded thread. Sorry if my short, unconstructed comment offended anyone. I'll try and word my posts correctly from now on. Thanks, Jon
Rick Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 il keep striking as long as it takes. i dont plan on staying at royal mail forever but il be damned if il let a pair of twats like leighton and crozier are gonna come in messing with so many peoples lives while they earn untold sums... its because of blokes like that this country has gone down the shitter gjuk i can understand your opinion but trust me if you think your having it bad at the minute... wait and see what happens if we lose this war!
GJUK Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Argh, another post man. I'm dead! il keep striking as long as it takes. i dont plan on staying at royal mail forever but il be damned if il let a pair of twats like leighton and crozier are gonna come in messing with so many peoples lives while they earn untold sums... its because of blokes like that this country has gone down the shitter gjuk i can understand your opinion but trust me if you think your having it bad at the minute... wait and see what happens if we lose this war! Ive put my views over on turbosport, I was not calling everyone who worked for royal mail retarded, although thats how it could (and has) been read by some. I hope you guys win.
johnny_h Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 The conservative government were not too great but they were the best of a bad deal at the time. Look what labour have fooked up since! My flat mate said he voted labour because tony blaire was young and cool looking. I wonder how many other people who voted labour wish they had thought a little bit more about it now? This country is a joke because of these fookin idiots.
Noodles Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I was just wondering when they go back to work have they got to catch up on all the post thats not been delivered?
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 you obvoiusly have your reasons for striking but hey my complaint is im waiting for two deliverys which are stood somewhere because of these strikes there must be thousands like me too so you cant expect us not to get upset about it
Rick Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I was just wondering when they go back to work have they got to catch up on all the post thats not been delivered? yes but wel be paid overtime rates to do it which is about 10 quid an hour where i work/ but hey my complaint is im waiting for two deliverys which are stood somewhere because of these strikes there must be thousands like me too so you cant expect us not to get upset about it its the only available action we can take against the phat cats in charge. postmen do use royal mail too, do you think theyd delay their own mail without good reason? if the public wishes to direct their anger and disgust at anyone over their losses due to striking they should be contacting their mp's or writing to alan leighton or asking the government to intervene, il even find you the address if you want? just support your local posties

MK5 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 i ordered an essential part for my car last Thursday - it should have been with me on Friday... i still don't have it. Fortunately my car runs without it (although maybe I shouldn't drive her as the bonnet could come open at any time without warning) so if this part was essential to her running how would i have got to work...? public transport i hear you cry!! nope - there are no buses or trains within reasonable walking distance of where i work. not to mention that i drop my son at school on the way in, in the morning i'm also waiting for a replacement credit card, details of a new bank account, and more parts for my car now there could be another strike ALL of next week. am i impressed? NO!!!! do the postman have any of my sympathy? NO!! go back to work before the government decide to close the Royal Mail and use alternative methods for delivering the mail !!! rant over

(and no thats not a good thing) al, cossy.... back me up here
Noodles Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I thought that the post was gonna go be brought out or something, wasnt virgin looking at running it, i dunno just rumour
flyingbanana Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 i heard on the radio today there will be another strike once this one is over
Nettles Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I have colleagues that are now £2000 overdrawn with their bank because their salary cheques are in the postal system somewhere. I’m sure that they’re really feeling your pain about now. The point I’m trying to make is that yes you are having it tough at the moment but so is everyone else because of it. Please do not take this as a personal attack as I really do hope you get your problems resolved as quickly as possible and that you all get the payment deal that you require. I just want you to know that you’re not the only ones suffering.
Daggle Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Stand up for what you can, IMO. Yes its real trouble that everyone is going through however from what I have read, the posties have my vote to stay out. At least you can strike, us old bill can't Good luck to all of you, oh and I won't be getting any b'day cards either
mk2Jordan Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 no birthday card's for me you kids are only interested in the money enclosed within them (i know i was) no i just like da card's
Rude Dog Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 no birthday card's for me you kids are only interested in the money enclosed within them (i know i was) No, I think you'll find thats the postmen who want that! The amount of mail that arrives pre-opened is ridiculous, and yes I report it to the local office and po-po, but thats another discussion, and no I haven't just insinuated ALL posties are theives, just some of them.
MK5 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 i think the postmen are doing themselves out of a job. this last week we've sent more documents by e-mail and fax than before - both methods are considerably cheaper than sending letters. i'm sure i'm not the only one who's realised this and will continue sending e-mails and faxes after the strike has finished

The amount of mail that arrives pre-opened is ridiculous, and yes I report it to the local office and po-po, but thats another discussion, and no I haven't just insinuated ALL posties are theives, just some of them. when you employ nearly a quarter of a million people its inevitable there will be bad apples amongst the bunch as in any organisation... i know people who have been sacked from superstores for stealing dvd's and you can bet your bottom dollar that a handful of members on this site have stolen a car in the past... theres no such thing a sa pure organisation people should start looking at whats good instead.... royal mail is the best postal service in europe full stop. i guarantee if these negotions are not successful, the postal service will be flipped upside down. youl be paying at least double the prices you do now to equal the european prices and the service will be far lesser quality as the posties will have less time to do their work and will probably be replaced by refugees that can work for half the cost but cant speak a word of english. i understand fro an outside point of view you are taking what is broadcast in the media as the truth.... your only told what they want you to know. do you really think this is about getting paid more? money has nothing to do with it, its the strings attatched to this pay deal that has caused so much outrage
