JAY PS Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Ive just arranged to collect my Mk1 Cortina from storage >Its been there since 1996 and is in need of a lot of work but i have loads of new panels for the car and im planning a full restoration over next couple of years I last used the car in 1989 and it was my 1st car ,i customised the interior and it had 16 speakers and four amps and was one of the first cars in the uk to have a Pioneer Centrate audio system installed It was nick named "street dream" and the also was also known as Pioneer the sound cruiser ! Im in two minds to restro back to standard as the running gear was done when last on the road ,considered cosworth but i think ,there is so few 1500 GTs around ,i would like to keep it standard with a tuned lump As for the interior i have all the original stuff in storage so it would be easy to return to standard What do you guys think 80s Custom or Resto ?

JAY PS Posted October 22, 2007 Author Report Posted October 22, 2007 Thanks for encouragement so far ,we are to bring the car home in two weeks time ,and then i get to see how bad she is ,i know both sills have gone,amazing the rear arches are original and still sound, it needs the normal jacking points etc and a new front panel (anyone have one?) She had some bad repairs front and rear but im hoping to get this done in time for showseason 2010 !
