alladdin Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 some time ago someone was asking about tool sets ? halfrauds have an offer on the £150 pro set down to 100 at the moment
ADY Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I have one of these, there pretty good, and good value so when my first set got nicked i went back and bought the same set again!

Danmex Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Actually maybe not cos I don't pay VAT keep forgeting
beedz Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 had a halfords pro set from my parents for a b'day 12 yrs ago and still going strong despite much abuse
Mr Sam Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 drill bits from halfords are crap my ratchets taken alot of abuse though
RFChris Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I have Halfords stuff, it's top (sockets/spanners/wrenches etc) i use cheap screwdrivers and alike though, i always break/lose them.
bigglesmk2 Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Yep,i got same set no probs.Better than all those snap off tools i used to have.
one-day Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 talking halfords they have a 2hp 25 litre compresser with all the bits even a vacum attachment for £150 and the next one up a 3hp 50 litre is £299 big leap in prices.
Tuffty Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I managed to blag a halfords trade card, it gives you about 25% off tools. I've been using their ratchets for years and have never broken one, even with a meter bar on the end of it Oh and their ratchet spanners are quite happy to undo tight bolts with the aid of a lump hammer without breaking so big thumbs up from me
old skool freestyler Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 i use halfords tools no complaints and them ratchet spanners are a god send
Tom Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I took a 6 year old ratchet (pro) back to halfords after i bent it with a scaffold tube and they swapped it for a spanky new one no questions asked.
Noodles Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Thay do have a lifetime guarantee, but not agaist rust
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 i buy a few halfords tools too i find them good quallity
BIGKEV Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 tools? you lot have tools - I have a bag full of Hammers, a 13mm spanner and a rag - That will fix 99.9% of any of my probs
bmxdave Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Yep, i use halfords tools on double decker buses, their more then capable of working on cars. 9/10 times the warranty is spot on too, no questions asked. Only reason i dont buy all my tools from halfords is cause the mac tools man is my dads friend from years ago, ive known him since i was a kid.
