I rember the petrol shortage :( Queuing at a garage with me dad for ages for a few galleons (not litre's) and getting a free glass

 

sugar shortage no sprinkles on your cereal

 

All the fit birds walking around in tartan (bloody Bay City rollers)

 

Getting out 1st color tv 1973 princess ann.’s wedding

 

Green shield stamps

 

Wimbledon hot rods George, lee & Duffy

 

School uniform with proper flares and kipper ties

 

Going to the coal yard with my granddad to get a gallon of esso blue paraffin for his greenhouse heater & stopping at the pub for a lemonade and a pack of salt n shake crisp’s

I remember those tents and seeing loads of the old vans years after but had stopped using them (with stickers peeled off)

 

i remember when people used to buy records nd cd's were the expensive thing

i remember looking forward to bread and gravey

 

i remember my mums vauxhall chevette

 

i remember cabbage patch dolls and roland the rat with kevin the gerbil and there anglia

 

and that mouse which used to be on that fella's finger ...What was his name???

 

i remember the half penny and old 5, 10 (and the funny coins that they used to get us used to them and 50p's

I used to run my mini van on that stuff !

 

I remember watching Y Viva Espana by Sylvia (I was 3) on a black and white portable tv with a really bad picture, whilst on holiday in a static caravan in the pouring rain in Scotland.

 

Betamax videos, I remember going to the only video shop in the town that rented betamax, used to have to go into the cellar, remember watching Smokey and the Bandit and Convoy on Betamax top loader. :lol:

 

I used to repair black and white valve tellys and betamax videos !

When I was a nipper we all lived in black and white and in the seventies colour came along though not in our house, my dad was too tight. Harold Wilson, Profumo, The Cold War, Suez crisis oh and there were some good times bit I cant remember them!! :wink:
