10,000 Miles on the clock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep you read right, got chatting to a bloke at work today and he was asking me about the Mex, he said his dad has a black MK2 RS2000 sitting in his garage at home, bought it from new and hasnt used it since the 80's or something!!!

about 10k on the clock with the black fishnet interior!

He said one bloke offered him £15,000 for it a year or so ago but he declined!!

I told him what a waste, tell your Dad to get it taxed and get it up Box Hill Next Saturday!!

What do you think??????

keep her mint worth a fortune

but you gotta sell when the timing is right

But surely you would enjoy it more if you actually used it rather than just looking at it??

Id get it out, but keep it mint and only use it for special occasions. A car like that is hard to come by, and if you want one to abuse buy one thats been used more and isnt as special.

But seriously, if it is in showroom condition with no rust whatsoever then I would use it as is, dont take it out in the rain and just be carefull with it!!!

My point exaclty!

Ok put it like this, if he bought it new back in say 1979, were now nearly 2008 so he's had it 29 years!!! and at only 10,000 miles and not used in in TEN years thats 500 miles per year for the first 19 years, please tell me where is the fun in that??

SO if he has owned it nearly 30 years and he bought it new, give him the befefit of the doubt and say he bought the car when he was 30, that'd make him around 60 (ish).

How much longer does he want to leave it sitting in there before he is too old to drive it?

Exactly the way I look at it. Saying that though, it will probably be like my 2 motors... been laid up for years & as soon as you get out using them, you find you have a never ending list of jobs like gaskets, bushes, crap in fuel tanks and iffy tyres to sort out

But they are there to be driven, a car is a form of transport, and what better way to transport yourself than an old Ford :ykt::D
