BaileyMex Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 10,000 Miles on the clock!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep you read right, got chatting to a bloke at work today and he was asking me about the Mex, he said his dad has a black MK2 RS2000 sitting in his garage at home, bought it from new and hasnt used it since the 80's or something!!! about 10k on the clock with the black fishnet interior! He said one bloke offered him £15,000 for it a year or so ago but he declined!! I told him what a waste, tell your Dad to get it taxed and get it up Box Hill Next Saturday!! What do you think??????
Posse Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 drive it like you stole it. Its no good stuck in the garage deffo get it taxed and enjoy it
carmad Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 keep her mint worth a fortune but you gotta sell when the timing is right
Muttley MK2 Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Buy it, or steal it but get it on the road, its a car not an investment!!
BaileyMex Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 keep her mint worth a fortune but you gotta sell when the timing is right But surely you would enjoy it more if you actually used it rather than just looking at it??
Posse Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Or get some mirrors and go to the shows so everyone can see his underneath
bmxdave Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Id get it out, but keep it mint and only use it for special occasions. A car like that is hard to come by, and if you want one to abuse buy one thats been used more and isnt as special.

carmad Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 but you take her out some twat in a x5 could rear end it
BaileyMex Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 but you take her out some twat in a x5 could rear end it You could also get on a tube in London and get blown up by some maniac fanatic, or get knocked down by a bus, not a good excuse my friend
carmad Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 thats why i stay in the house lol but come on you cant tell me you would get that minter of him then go to track days ect in it?
James HPE Motorsport Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 The 1st thing I would do if I had it is fit some Nitrous and go racing!!! But seriously, if it is in showroom condition with no rust whatsoever then I would use it as is, dont take it out in the rain and just be carefull with it!!!
oliwally Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 but come on you cant tell me you would get that minter of him then go to track days ect in it? Yep I would,Slam it over some superlites and a naughty Harris pinto to make it a proper car
PIG Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 tell him to stick a locker up its arse and go sliding round the nearest fookin roundabout my friend ,i'll av a go for him if he wishes
BaileyMex Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 But seriously, if it is in showroom condition with no rust whatsoever then I would use it as is, dont take it out in the rain and just be carefull with it!!! My point exaclty! Ok put it like this, if he bought it new back in say 1979, were now nearly 2008 so he's had it 29 years!!! and at only 10,000 miles and not used in in TEN years thats 500 miles per year for the first 19 years, please tell me where is the fun in that?? SO if he has owned it nearly 30 years and he bought it new, give him the befefit of the doubt and say he bought the car when he was 30, that'd make him around 60 (ish). How much longer does he want to leave it sitting in there before he is too old to drive it?
Mr Sam Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 id strip it selling the bits to fools on ebay and make £££'s then buy a naughty engine for it
escamino Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 I would have to use it , but not abuse it (much )
Gareth Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 the round ones to trailers and all that shite!!!! Cars were made to be driven.....
LEONMEX Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Its all about getting out & useing them
antz Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 drive it, fit an lsd, slam its arse, let it slide round the nearest corner BUT keep it nice and safe
Gareth Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 drive it, fit an lsd, slam its arse, let it slide round the nearest corner BUT keep it nice and safe All on a private track
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 But seriously, if it is in showroom condition with no rust whatsoever then I would use it as is, dont take it out in the rain and just be carefull with it!!! Exactly the way I look at it. Saying that though, it will probably be like my 2 motors... been laid up for years & as soon as you get out using them, you find you have a never ending list of jobs like gaskets, bushes, crap in fuel tanks and iffy tyres to sort out But they are there to be driven, a car is a form of transport, and what better way to transport yourself than an old Ford
antz Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 But they are there to be driven, a car is a form of transport, and what better way to transport yourself than an old Ford damn right!
