Just joined last week, thought i'd try posting some pics. This is my signal amber 3.0S i bought off E-bay about six months ago, it was a fairly tidy car with an Mot and could have been used as is but rust was through on the wings and sills and i bought it as a project so got it back to my garage and tore it to bits.

Found the usuall rust at the base of the A posts and had to patch the floor around the seat mounts, seat belt mountings etc, shell is all solid where it matters though, roof, chassis rails, boot floor, scuttle and front crossmember are all mint. Mechanicaly the car is great, motor is the quietest essex i've heard and it's got 2.8i bilsteins, vented discs, anti roll bars and single leafs on, drives really nice. It had a vinyl top on but i'm not a fan of them and it was scabby so i ripped it off, roof is just rattle canned satin black for now but car will be getting painted all one colour.

This is the car as it is now, just about ready for paint, needing fresh tyres and an MOT.

Did hope to get it done by the spring but i've now decided to fit an X-pack to it so no deadline now. The plan is to fit the X-pack wings and re-do the car signal amber with the S stripe back on, sticking with 13" wheels, possibly 9x13 image R/S four spokes (very expensive) but probably either 9x13 minilights or revolutions.

This is my daily driver,

Bought this about three months ago, found it in the Addtrader, did consider a Mk4/5 Cortina or another Capri but this came up local at the right price. The steering was crap when i first got it but found a worn bottom ball joint and tie bar bushes so i done these and got the tracking done, also a new set of tyres (Toyos) as it had odd sizes on it, after this got the tracking done and fitted new front and rear brake shoes pads wheel cyls etc, it's now driving really nice.

Bodywork was'nt too bad, it needed a rear arch (worst bit) so i've cut this out and welded in a new one, managed to get the paint matched not too bad with a rattle can, halfway through tidying up the front wings at the moment.

Plan to replace the front springs if i can find new standard ones as the ones on have sagged with age, if i can find these i'll get a polly bush kit for it and re-bush the front at the same time.

As much as i love it i may sell the Granny next year to fund the Capri.

I'll start a project thread for the Capri in the projects section, probably get this done over the holidays as i'm busy waiting on bits at the moment  .
