I was going to get another sierra as my first car but now i fancy getting a mk2 escort. Problem is that i cant find anywhere that will insure me on a mk2 escort because it is too 'old' does anyone know a way of getting round this or any companies that will cover me for an older car?

Cheers

Post office insurance was the cheapest for me, went through all the classic car insurances and they was all alot higher than the post office.

it all depend's where you live though.

Mk2 escorts are now counted as classic cars and many companies won't cover classics. You're then hit by the double whammy that most of the companies that do offer classic cover won't offer it to people under a certain age, often 25.

Shop around and you'll find someone eventually, best of luck

The only company i have tried that has given me a sensible quote is Liverpool Victoria, on a 1.6 gl mk2 escort i was quoted £1890 fully comp on my dads policy or £1996 fully comp on my own.

and don't use performance direct they tucked my mate right up on the agreed valuation the thieving gits. rs2000 mint he asked 8K valuation they said that is fine no problem so he took out the policy sent all the stuff off and got it back with a valuation of 4k and they wouldn't up it so he asked for his money back and they said he could have 50% back minus the closure fees which ment he got 20% back on a 3 week old policy. thieving gits :evil::evil::evil:
