MK II Mark Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 The Manx government have decided to give us the agreed pay increase back dated to September, thank god as the uk government certainly don't seem to care about the English police.
c1arke Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 bring back an witicome and the 80ts stile of cars lol
Twinkle Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 not just the police they have done it to ambulance staff as well we were told we were getting 2.5% but they have just given it to us and because they arent back paying it all, it works out at 1.9%

Strike... Strike... Strike... We can't but you can Twink we wouldnt have the backing of the union to strike as they would be acting in the majority of their members interests ie the nurses. we do have ambulance unions but they wont accept them or legally recognise them. unofficial overtime ban is enough to throw it all over the place we are so understaffed its the overtime that keeps the service afloat, just...
Mr.Sumo Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 do you know what , i reckon your right Mark . I reckon they should strike . Fook em . Its about time this country started putting the Great back in Great Britain and stopped getting fooked over by that bunch of moronic tossers in Parliament . 1 day of strike action and they"ll be sh*tting themselves ( and i can"t see the Armed forces not being too sympathetic to the Government either ) .

Correct Sumo Or you could work to rule Twink and everyone call in sick on the same day
Admin Vista Posted December 17, 2007 Admin Report Posted December 17, 2007 and i can"t see the Armed forces not being too sympathetic to the Government either . Sadly the armed forces have another word for strike, I don't know what they call it in the Air force and Army, but the Navy calls it mutiny. Technically the death sentence can still be given to naval servicemen for munity At minimum it's a case of "Do not pass Go, go straight to jail" and military prisons are the nasty institutions that civil prisons should really be.
Daggle Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 1 day of strike action and they"ll be sh*tting themselves . It wouldn't even take a day, I give it fifteen minutes before we get our proper pay rise. The federation (our so called union) cannot back down on this otherwise it sets a presedence for each year. The goverment have basically broken the rules of arbitration. We go into a meeting and the pay rise gets set in stone and then as soon as the meeting is finished the goverment change the rules. I think they have a big shock coming. Work to rule, plenty of sick days coming up for me!! *cough* I feel a cold coming on.....

Can of worms here mate. Cant strike, canT put opinion across (only through the DIV system) and where does that get you?.....no sodding where, thats where. I can only say the emergency services & Armed Forces are forgotten about. Dont get me wrong, but another Falklands - "WAKE UP" call will show the masses who have put us on the BACK BURNER! I do value my life, but there is no way we will get to fight as we cant bloody get there!!! TIME DONE IN 6.5 YEARS!!!!!
sab6024 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 I think it's disgusting how the forces and emegency services are treated by the government I heard on the radio earlier that some coastguards are only paid 1p over minimum wage WTF? I wouldn't want their jobs and hats off to the men and women who risk their lives for us

I wouldn't want their jobs and hats off to the men and women who risk their lives for us as an ex coastguard i can say that is correct, we were classed as voluntary workers and got paid minimum wage if we went out on a call, quite often out patrols were unpaid and a lot of the public relations stuff we did at schools etc were unpaid. even the area managers which are full time paid coasties are only on about £20k a year

Then the phrase stuck and it has been used often with out the origonal meaning. BUT, now it is, and guess what, its to late to save. We must have a big welcome flag on the White Cliffs of Dover! COME ON IN!! It must be helish for the locals down in Kent. (Diversed a bit i know). But freedom of speech is our right. I know we chose to join the Armed Forces/Emergancy services, but its a challenge also PAY BACK to the boys and girls of 1914 - 1945. I cant change any thing at all, i can drip about it until the cows come home. Where do we all go from here? Bend over and take one for the team - whats new there then - bugger all. Some Garrison towns that i have visited like Aldershot and Stafford i got turned away from pubs as i have a service ID card, come on! what the hell is going on. All those brave soldiers, sailors, marines and civi's who have been killed in Iraq/Afgan - MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL THE FAMILIES. This christmas will be a sad one for many families...shame.....
