Retromotorsport Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 very interesting thread Ages ago there was a thread that started one way and ended up with a slanging match about chavs and plastic cars .. A couple of us olduns pointed out what OSF's looked like back in the 70's 80's ... and what was deemed cool back then .. and lets be honest .. even the most chaved up car today dosnt look as bad as some of the creations in the 70's .. i can remember making jack up bars 18" long, round a corner you could watch the axle come out from the car about 6" .. told the guy he would need a panhard or something ... oh and this in the late 80's so not that long ago .. welding up rear windows and putting teardrops in them .. hood scoops to feed the 32/36 carb !!! Even made a shaker hood for a crapie with just the 38DGAS on a spacer in the shaker.. As for neons ... what about the red light on the diff .. Makes you all nostalgic dont it I agree with Puddy, would be good to see it back out in its original form and to be honest, to restore it back to a standard van would take forever, how many screw holes can one man weld up !!!!!
JAY PS Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 Great to see its still around ,remember it cruising up the kings road and round the park ,didnt the owner look a bit ecentric ! Wasnt it on the ebay a few months ago? If the new owners watching ,leave it alone ,there is not many 70s customs left ,great to see an interesting van for once ! That must have taken weeks to do ,amazing to see at night!!!
