old skool freestyler Posted December 23, 2007 Author Report Posted December 23, 2007 and ive been told not to tell the compnys im a mechanic true?
countrybumpkin Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 footman james have all been good for me i pay about £450 for my mk1 escort
countrybumpkin Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 yes telling them your in the motor trade will proably up you insurance but not telling them will void your insurance if they find out
LEONMEX Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 and ive been told not to tell the compnys im a mechanic true? true not sure wahy but it made a big difference when i was a mechanic
bigglesmk2 Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 My bro's a Jag mechanic and yeah he says it makes a difference. I found ASDA insurance cheap, tho it does change every year, best bets to shop around, quotes can change from place to place sometimes by as much as a grand . So many factors like your post code, job or even the colour of your car can affect the quote so shop around bud.
mk1super Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 In the same boat mate, it sucks ive been quoted some silly prices for whats very basic models 1.1 etc
J Elvy Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 alright dwaine, i just did a quote through confused as if i were you e.g. just passed, only you driving blah blah but for where i live and it come back 2200 with the post office!!! think you might have to bite the bullet or get a mk2 four door!! bit cheaper to insure
Copey Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 and ive been told not to tell the compnys im a mechanic true? true not sure wahy but it made a big difference when i was a mechanic ooo possibly because mechanics know how to "tweek"
jamesmk1 Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 elephant was the best i got my 1300l mk1 went i was 20. it was £500 with no n/c as i put it down as a second car. but now i am 21 with adrian flux. all the mod's are listed and it's only £345.
shaun1.6ghia Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 i've had the same problems, im 22 but only been driving 18months an want my escort mk2 as a everyday runner but was only able to do this as regular insurance as it wasn't a second car. that is just under £1000 tho. id like to hear what you end up doing.... p.s. my friend who's 18 has a 105anglia and most classic insurers won't touch him with his age...

Rick Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 its not alsways about cost either, id rather pay the money for a company that doesnt try and squirm out of payouts if the situation ever arises. id say 8500 is a tad excessive though search for feedback on an insurance company before you make a descision
old skool freestyler Posted December 25, 2007 Author Report Posted December 25, 2007 my cheapest quote is from adridan flux and i know there good but if any one know different tell me plz lol
J Elvy Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 alright dwaine, i just did a quote through confused as if i were you e.g. just passed, only you driving blah blah but for where i live and it come back 2200 with the post office!!! think you might have to bite the bullet or get a mk2 four door!! bit cheaper to insure got the mk2 just with 2 less doors hiding away good stuff now get welding!!! insurance is crap, you pay more than your car is worth to drive it and if you have an accident you dont get your car fixed unless youre fully comp! n e ways, 1600 wiv adrian flux aint too bad, let me know if you get any cheaper as i mite insure my 4door mk2 properly soon instead of just paying for a month at a time when i can be arsed to drive it
