busta Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 sure i saw kev jenkins run a 10 something last year , is he not the fastest n/a ??
kevmk2 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I'm not sure if Terry's car has gone quicker than Kevs without gas though mate . Someone will know though , let's ask Kev Im not 100% sure what time he has done without gas,i seem to remember him saying 10.6 or 10.7 but we are talking about a ladder bar equipped car compared to a £130 rally design 4 link kit His 60ft times are 1.4's compared to my 1.6's most of the time. Ive only got a 1.59 once on my old engine. If i could get some more grip off the line and stop wheelspinning then maybe it would do a 10.4 or 10.3,but who knows if that will happen or not I insist on not fitting gas to my car,for one i cant afford it and 2 when the engine goes pop i cant afford to repair that either I maybe selling my nearly new MG4 Hoosiers soon and get some taller and wider tyres for it,like 8" wide of something.
kevmk2 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 sure i saw kev jenkins run a 10 something last year ,is he not the fastest n/a ?? With gas yes, without gas no

Guest MK1gaz Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 do ladder bars make you go faster?only if your wheelspinning or not going around corners
busta Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 sure i saw kev jenkins run a 10 something last year ,is he not the fastest n/a ?? With gas yes, without gas no is that not still class as normally asperated though, that was my point ! forced induction means super/turbocharged shite am i opening up a can of worms here
kevmk2 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 do ladder bars make you go faster? Yes mate,it puts the eqivilant to around 2 ton of weight onto your rear tyres as you launch,as it puts the center of gravity towards the middle of the car as you launch or something like that. As you launch the cars body goes up and puts the weight down on the tyres. Most of the boys in malta run ladder bars, thats why they launch so well and are a one type of race sort of car, only good for quarter mile stuff. But then with ladder bars it makes your car only good for going in straight lines,no good for bends as it lifts the rear wheels in the corners.

And kev's still on a 4 link kit
Posse Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Kev ill whip you around a track any day m8
kevmk2 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Kev ill whip you around a track any day m8 You probably would mate depends if its a short twisty track or one with long straights, you cant beat aspirated power on the shorter track, instant grunt but on the longer tracks i would be waving bye bye Thing is ive got the sort of power now that demands a tyre size of at least a 235 or bigger,im doing it on 195 normal run of the mill road tyres. If i put some sticky tyres on it for the track it would be alot better
