Difficult question to answer really Sambo. For instance how do you define fastest car? With people on here that are into all sorts, do you take circuit times, 1/4 mile times, 0-60 times etc etc.

Up the 1/4 mile then Kev Warn is the fastest turbo 4 pot , Andy harris and Jayson Elvy are the fastest N.A. 4 pots . I'm only counting the ones without gas as that's foooooooking cheating and don't count

Just wanted to get a whole load of interesting info really Vista.

If people have a reliable 0-60 time then that'll be cool, or the strip times.

Circuit time would be interesting too.

 

Whatever info you have really, and thought it might be an interesting subject for a Sunday afternoon!

 

I know there are some powerfull turbo cars here but do they have any times etc?

On the road mine does between 4 and 5 seconds 0-60 on 195/45/15 road tyres with wheelspin in 1st/2nd and 3rd gear

Up pod on hoosier slicks my best 0-60 time is 2.49,the rest of the time its 2.6 2.7ish and 0-100 is low 6's

And best quarter mile et is 10.58 @ 130mph. Hitting rev limiter in 4th gear across the line though @8100rpm.

Well as for circuits is not as easy because one car can be fast around one circuit but get served up on another so apart from the dedicated circuit race cars out there it's probably one of these = Matt Dowlers mk2 Escort or Mad Mick's mk1 escort . Can't think of anymore oldskoolfords that are road legal and as fast as those 2 really

= cheating , everything else is ok . Mines a proper unlightened comfy street car so it has no chance up the strip against the lightweight Escorts with snorting Harris pintos i'm affraid . I'm hoping i can run low 13's on 175mm street rubber with 105mph terminals though

my mate has a scubby i kick his ar** at 1/4 but he can corner i dont think it is so much a question of power more the question of handling unless you are talking 1/4s and it is about power and traction

My capper's 0-60 at bruntingthorpe was timed at 4.2 seconds. On drag strip its estimated at 3.3 seconds. N/A V8 no nitrous

its not what you,ve got its how you use it, my escy's got a crossflow, my mate has a mk1 cav with an xe in it, but every time we have it from the lights he gets tonked, the ecsy just tucks down grips and goes, while he's still sittin there spinning the rears, on paper i should get had off every time, but in the real world, on real roads, with real tyres iv got the edge on him upto about 70/80mph at which point he normally flies past but the race is well over by then. all that power aint worth shit if you cant get it down.

plus its always nice to tonk a vauxhall, especially with an old 1600 pushy

what's a 22' mt sportsman pro then ? . I'm hoping to go low 13's up the strip on normal cheap £50 yoko 175/50/13's and no gas . Especially without a sneaky pete gas kit .
