Just been looking at availability of tyres for my new wheels that i bought recently, they are 10x15".

They came with toyo 235/50 15's but i cannot find another manufacturer that makes this size and profile!! The toyo's are fooking expensive!

What other size tyres can i get on them? do you think a 225/50 15 will stretch on them??? 225's are much more common and cheaper, so i can get a pair for the rears to fook about with and ruin.

:thumbsup::?

I had 10x15's on my old turbo 2 and road legal rubber is a nightmare to get plus looks shite ( like foooooooooooooking baloons) . I used to run on michelin intermediate wet racing tyres (see pic), they're cheap and look the tits  No good for hot dry summer trackdays though as they overheat and fall to bits !!!!!!!! :shock:santapodapril06005.jpg

But glad you made it back from Amsterdam. Any itches or addictions to report on?

Thanks Toby, Nah, didnt get up to much mischief really. Never got the chance to explore Amsterdam :( went straight to the city of Leiden. It was alright though, got drunk on wierd Dutsch spirits.

So, no help here then with the tyres, unless you like french cars!!

I had the wheels off of Retro Al which were 10 x 15 s and i looked for months and months to get tyres that would fit the 10s and your right when i found some they are super expensive so much so that i sold the wheels on as realistically the tyres were going to cost more than the wheels cost ........... so they are now on a track car  225s are too small and really you need 245s !!! 235 are a stretch . Try cooper cobra tyres although at that width they will be like a ballon eevn on a 50 profile :?

It's not really my thing

So I spivved it a bit for you. No charge

Nice, made me smile, and yes they were quick in their day, but for those who dont know, Renault solt the rights and production line to----------------------------------------------------------------SKODA and thats where the start of the rear engine SKODA jokes evolved, so perhaps the jokes should really be directed at RENAULT!!!!! :D

Apparently, avon can put cuts in their slicks and then certify them for road use!???

Anyone heard of this before?

Trouble is, this will not be any less expensive than buying the 235/50 15 Toyo r888's will it!!

Also, i dont understand the tyre sizes when it comes to slicks, its all different measurments :?:?

Mine used to fly mate , 700 kilos and a screaming 8000rpm 1.4 race 5 gordini pushrod in the boot :ykt: . Baaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrp , baaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrp , baaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrp  Anyway back to the big fat tyre problems , i tried cut slicks on the street but they look a bit wierd to say the least (usually baloons) and prefered the wet intermediates . They also passed the M.o.T. no sweat and i just buffed off the "for racing purposes only" logo from the sidewall . I did it for 10 years and never got tugged by plod as they look proper with a proper factory tread

Hi m8 I am going to be using 10x15" tyres on my Anglia , I got my tyres last year from IF Motorsport . They are 245x40x15 Avon CR500 road legal track tyres .

They have a website and do mail order : www.ifmotorsport.com

Could you also let me know the dish and ET of your wheels

Cheers Ian

i personally think the stretched tyre look is pretty awesome... the vw euro stylers fookin love it! if you got 225's on a 50 profile it would look sick on a scort as it would remoev the balloon effect by lowering the look of the sidewall! lots of people go on about safety and stuff but i don't think there has been much in the way of reported accidents from stretching tyres so its up to you...

just type in 'stretched tyres' into google to check it out!
