Admin Vista Posted November 3, 2006 Admin Report Posted November 3, 2006 That was sold to Johnny by a well known trader as a roadworthy car , I think it even had an MOT though FK's how
bomber1 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 good luck with the build. nice to see it being saved
Paul F Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 I remember seeing the thread about that car, and I remember seeing it for sale in an advert placed by the well known seller of classic fords. Don't all their cars come with 12 months MOT and tax? Best of luck with the build...
Baz. Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 you obviously like welding twink, or leave it like that it will be lighter pmsl
Mark2Mark Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 It will keep you busy on these cold dark winter nights anyway! At least you can see everything that needs doing before you start how many of us have lifted that damp carpet and got that sinking feeling? I know i have!
Twinkle Posted November 3, 2006 Author Report Posted November 3, 2006 had it on its side earlier and the chassis rails are mint its not too bad when you think it still has all 4 original floor pans and inner sills
Paul F Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 had it on its side earlier and the chassis rails are mint its not too bad when you think it still has all 4 original floor pans and inner sills definitely. my mk2 was (and still is if i'm honest) worse than yours, and it's definitely worth repairing! The only bits that surprised me on your mk1 is the strut tops...do they usually go like that, i've never seen it before... what causes it?
Paul F Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Just initiated brain, and it's probably from mud etc thrown up from the wheels on the inner wings that cause it to rot from the outside of the inner wing inwards...?
johnny_h Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Looking forward to seeing the progress Lee!
