i ordered the brackets from yukspeed for sierra caliper to english axle but i have a problem:

im not sure whether iv been sent the correct brackets or im supposed to use a different type of disk.

the brackets mate up to the calipers ok but do not have enough contact with flange on the end of the axle therefore it wouldnt be sufficient to weld to.

pics arent very good but i think youl be able to see what i mean

is it possible iv been sent the brackets for the same conversion on a different axle

or am i supposed to use non - sierra disks??

want to make sure im not making a stupid mistake before i get back in touch with yuk

My brackets are from yukspeed I used mk1/2 solid fiesta disks & jelly mould calipers

nice one ratman thats the kind of answer i was looking for have you got any pics? and do you know the part numbers of the disks you used

The brackets are designed to be bolted on using the bearing retainer bolt holes, weld the bracket in position and remove the bolts, I used Mk3 escort 1.3 front solid discs

iv,e got puegueot 106 discs on mine you have to machine the half shafts to fit though

You have to take a nip off the flange with the ford discs as well

I'm using a 3.0L Capri rear axle and fitting XR2 front vented disc.

I also had to turn down the half shaft flange and cut a small nip off one edge to get them to fit.

When ever you try a conversion such as this there is always gonna be a certain amount of modding to be done.

All part of the fun. :D:thumbsup:

Have a quick check on the capri sport pages as his rear conversion uses the bolt on type brackets instead of the weld on ones but still uses the same calipers and theres no need to get the half shafts machined, well i didn't, but i can't remember what disc's i used as i got them through him, poss XR4x4's.

they are bolt on but i want to make sure they dont come off so a good run of weld around wont hurt.

i think ratman hit the nail on the head
