FredTransit Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Back to rats. We have 2 lurchers and 2 Jack Russells. I see the rats come from next door (too dangerous to live here) after the bird food I put out (even go up the trees too) as soon as they leave the house! They also move into the compost bin when the terriers go on their travels. I am loath to put poison down for the rats, in case the dogs get hold of it or the rats that have eaten it. The terriers do their best, but when they were away the other week there was 3 of em out there!! Is trapping the rats the way to go?
Copey Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Is trapping the rats the way to go? as long as you dont get one of the dogs
FredTransit Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 That's the other worry! The smallest one is the worst for hunting and only weighs 6kg. She had a pigeon a couple of weeks ago, pulled it's head off then got bored with it! Sometimes I am amazed we have any wildlife at all in the garden.
