my little brother has just got an early sit up & beg, weve got a viva front clip for it and im just wondering what rear ends everyone is running, its only gonna have my old 1100 cross flow and 4 speed in it ( he's only 13y/o) and we want to keep the standard steel arches. so what axle and wheels are you runnin. the last two pops i had ran jag irs, which are a bit heavy duty for what the car will be used for

ill post pics later

although the jag rear end may be overkill at the moment it may be worth considering it as when he gets older all he has to do is swap the engines over rather than rebuild the rear end

i did think that but to be honest iv got the full running gear out of my mk1 escy and being 13 he aint got any money, so just trying to get it rollin and drivable as cheaply as possible. also i wanna try and keep it all ford so its easy for him to learn mechanics on it and get cheap parts for it

Yeah I'm using a Capri 3.0L rear axle on mine but you might find that it's too wide for the look you want.

An MK1/MK2 Escort axle is slightly narrower but not by much.

Good luck with the build fella and post up some photos of your progress. :D:thumbsup:

we want to keep the stock rear wings and run steels. looks like we'll have to get something narrowed

105e Anglia would be my 1st choice, but if thats too wide, get an escort axle and narrow it,

Thinking outside the Ford box, especially as there is not much power going thru it, Reliant Robin?? got to be brave to admitting you have one of those underneath, but my mate uses one under his Bedford Rascal Suzuki 1100cc powerd nutty thing, runs 13s in it and he is not known for being gentle either, especially as he is ex Outlaw 9 second pop racer

Or another that may well be super tough, funny PCD but I am sure re-drillable, Suzuki S610?? baby 4x4 they are meant to be strong!!!!!!
