Flaky bumpers ....

Okay, so I need to get my flaky bumpers sorted before the first main show. What do I need to do?

 

My thoughts as a non expert female are to rub down the bumper with some fine paper, spray on a primer and then satin black arsehole them?

 

Will that be okay or am I completely on the wrong track??

 

Also, is there anyone local to North Hampshire who would be prepared to cut out the rust under the back bumper and weld it up because it looks shite and I put up with it all last year but if I don't get it sorted then I will leave the car in the garage for the rest of the year

i just used matt black then laquer...prob better to prime it as well tho....i dont know much though

Sounds about right to me Jo Though I'm a little confused about how satin blacking your arsehole is going to help your bumpers

just make sure when you rub it down its all smooth, ie no steps in the paint where its flaked off, it should all be feathered in and then painted, else yould see where the paints flaked off anyway

I'd strip them right back Jo. Then see what sort of surface to have to work with. Deffo prime (etch would be good) then satin black.

 

if the metal is rough you can use a high-build sandable primer to get them smooth again

How do you do your toe / finger nails?
