boXXer Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Was all planned up and ready to go to pod tomorrow with my mates (like 10 of us going!), weathers supposed to be lovely, a sunday off! (which is amazing for me!) first time out this year..... BUT.... On a leisurely drive just now, (no, really!) to my local KFC, i pulled away from the lights, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, errrrr, no 3rd!!! Will not go into 3rd at all, even trying to ram it some! So, is there any chance on this earth, that someone has the time/facilities to change over a type 9 box for me tonight for tomorrow? i'll obviously pay you, and also help you to do it. I would do it myself, but dont have the facilities to do so. if ANYONE can help, or knows of anyone that can do it, you would be my hero. car is driveable, so can get it to wherever easily enough.
Admin Vista Posted February 16, 2008 Admin Report Posted February 16, 2008 Are you sure it's the box and not just the selector? The type 9 has a little plastic bush that goes around the selector fork and if that breaks up it can make it difficult to get gears. They're still available from Ford (the bushes).
boXXer Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 its deffo mullered mate. the sync went at brands about a month ago, but ive been using it still and crunching it into 3rd (or getting the revs right), and finally today it gave up the ghost! How selfish of it!
dommo1 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Just spoke to H.P.E harry mate he said give him a bell he would do it for you tonight i sent his number in pm to you
toad650 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 I'm not too far away mate but haven't got the use of a engine hoist anymore which is rubbish. If you get really stuck we could put it on ramps n try. You got another type 9 though?
GT_Jim Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 if i was closer to you i would but i hope someone can help you out
