How do you hold your knob????

Do you rest your hand on the top? Or grip it like you mean to do the biz? Maybe clasp it sideways for control, or use smooth movement to slide it where you want it to go????

I hold with porpose as the bloody works van has a shit gear change never wants to go in any gear

first and second gears my hands to the right of the gear stick with the palm on the knob, for third i cup my hand around the gearstick with my hand to the left of the stick and use my palm to push it up, for 4th i do the same but use my fingers to pull the stick back to fourth.
