KEVSWAYV6 Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Was a great meet despite the damp weather. I've just read the posts about peeps doing wheel spins....etc. I know I left with a bit of noise and a heavy right foot, sorry if I upset people and did the wrong thing. I will leave quietly next time! I left at approx one o'clock, didn't see any bad behaviour before then, did it all kick off after that? I agree, Boxhill & Rykas is the home meeting place of OSF's in the South. I hope it stays that way for a long time yet! Boxhill is my second home, have been going down there since a teenager (30 + years ago), both as a biker and now an OSF'er. Here's looking forward and quietly to the next Boxhill meet. Kev.
caprirs0 Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Is there any way these meets can be supervised or some one to marshal them because we all know what could happen going forward. we all love our cars but there is a time and place .Track days or the pod. How many more chances are we going to get name and shame don"t think that"s the answer but may be a warning letter or email ????
over_head_cam Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Marshaling would be difficult and in my opinion TOO official We want to have an informal meet where we can get out in our OSFs and meet all our mates and that. We try and run the site on a bit of trust and informality, which really is the way it should be IMO. Like I said, leaving the venue a bit sharpish, even tearing up the road is part and parcel of the whole 'scene' but intentionally doing burnouts etc actually in the car park and up the exit ramp is what we need to prevent 99% is a good score but the 1% can spoil it for all of us
johnny_h Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 When Rykas start making food fit for human consumption I'll stop doing burnout's in thier car park!
johnny_h Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 That was a little joke. But seriously after such a long drive some decent food wouldn't go a miss. I may bring a fookin great bbq up in the back of rusty nuts mercury in the summer and knock out some cow and pig rolls.

ratman Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I dont think the food is an issue here so if tescos sell you a crap loaf of bread will you do a burn out in there carpark i know you said it as a joke but its not a joke if we get chucked out because of a few cocks If you think the food is crap dont eat it its 100% better that the overpriced cold crap they serve up at the pod
Lardy Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 its a hard one to judge this was my first event that I have been to and really enjoyed it but I did notice that there were little kids about and some people hareing about the car park I left at about 1 and the loudest cars that I saw and heard doing wheel spins away from the car park were the three or four scoobies hanging around and also three or four osf but it shows we are not all to blame but because its our day we get the blame.

johnny_h Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I dont think the food is an issue here so if tescos sell you a crap loaf of bread will you do a burn out in there carpark No, I would fill their air conditioning system with petrol fumes. You know I'm joking and it's a serious problem but I'm not to blame here. The last thing I would want is for OSF to lose this meet venue but after every meet either at Boxhill or the Ace etc, there is always someone who does a fookin great rolling burnout and I'm sure they know better. There is a simple answer, a member of admin sends a warning e-mail to everyone about required behaviour at these meets and anyone caught out gets a ban. No question.
mk1super Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Its a shame that naughty antics could possibly bin a meet, i see both sides of the coin though. When spirits are high you tend to get a bit carried away. As for laughing at the lad falling off his bike (Even if the twit couldnt hold it up or ride it properly) iam sorry but shame on you, if that was someone mashing there osf nobody would have laughed.
DeanMk1Capri Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Always tempting to light um up, but you have to control yourself and realise your OSF looks just as cool if you dont do it at our meetings - bit dangerous in the car park when its wet and so busy... Dont normally eat all that much junk food, but as far as burgers go me and the kids thought they were ok Hope the silly sod that dropped the bike didnt do too much damage - what a costly nightmare
Wessie Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 When Rykas start making food fit for human consumption I'll stop doing burnout's in thier car park! also add affordable into that sentance johnny
kevmk2 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 The names have been changed to protect the innocent
over_head_cam Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 I find the bacon baguettes reasonably palatable though the tea is a little.....well...pissy
johnny_h Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 To be fair I've only tried a burger and it was like eating cardboard.

johnny_h Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 I've never eaten cardboard Not even when you were young and your mum had no money for food and just wanted to fill your tummy?
