sambo Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Picked up the engine from Wayne and Kev on Friday. Put it in on Saturday with the help of me old man. Then today, i got everything else bolting in and on. All on me Todd. All i've got to do is sort the slack on the exhaust out cos it srubs and put the fluids in. Then she's ready to go! Gonna MOT and insure it soon so i can actually have a car that i can have fun in for a change! Get some cheap tyres on the rear and have some fun!!

sambo Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Bet you can't wait to get out and about in it after all the trouble you've had! Bloody hell yeah Vista! , cant wait to just enjoy it for now! Had al sorts of probs. The head gasket was weeping and causing cooling probs at first then she started to rattle. Shame it's not done for tomorrow.
Admin Vista Posted March 9, 2008 Admin Report Posted March 9, 2008 What was the cause of your coolant issues (hot engine cold rad as I recall?) in the end?
fezza Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Well done mate, glad you got it sorted in the end
sambo Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 What was the cause of your coolant issues (hot engine cold rad as I recall?) in the end? Yeah the top of the rad was hot whilst the bottom of the rad was cold?? Turned out to be a weeping head gasket that was pressurising the system at higher revs and also there was a blockage in one of the water ways too!! It's going to be a novelty having a reliable engine for a change!!
