waynemex Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Hi All, Picked up some wings from my local motor factor for my Mk2 a few weeks ago and I asked him about standard Mk1 wings. He reckons one of the companies is on the verge of repressing them?? Was he spinning me a line or has anyone else heard the same. I need a pair for my mk1 but I'm not desperate (seem to be ending around £120 on ebay) Cheers
Cookie Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I know a man who sells tons of old ford panels and he sid the same, so it is a very good possibility I would say
mk1super Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 What a pity we cant get a hold of panels etc made from the same stuff as Black Box's as they seem indistructable
Savvi Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I was told recently the same ............. the panels are due to be re pressed.
mk14dr Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I was told two years ago that they were on the verge of being reproduced. I wouldn't hold my breath people D
72mk1escort Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I hope they do start re making them i might end up needing a drivers wing as i repaired it and the rusts coming back through the paint already
escortmad79 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Hadrians (Beevers) have stopped making them for some bizarre reason!! Hopefully they're getting new moulds made (As well as Mexico ones!! )
72mk1escort Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Maybe we should call them and tell them how many people would buy the wings if they remade them
waynemex Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 I was told the dies were worn out and once they get so far worn the wings go out of spec and wont fit. Would need a big investment from some one fo new dies...are the fibreglass ones worth considering?
