greenfordpop Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I`ve just put 7J Appliance wheels on the back of my Pop and as you can see from one of the pic`s there about 3mm gap between the arch and the tyre. Yes i know i can easily trim the lip, but does anyone know what sort of side to side movement there is on a leaf spring motor? Eight leaves on each side, no Panhard rod! For those of you wondering i didn`t make my three year old Daughter do all the work! I did undo the wheel nuts for her as she was struggling with them greenfordpop AKA Barry
Admin Vista Posted March 27, 2008 Admin Report Posted March 27, 2008 Looks pretty tight to me mate. Truthfully I've no idea how much lateral movement you'll get but I don't think I'd want to leave it that close if it were mine.
X-pack-Glyn Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 i remember a slammed 2.8i i had on brookies, spaced and 205 50 tyres, and when fully loaded you could just get a credit card between the arch and the tyre... and il tell you what...it never rubbed once
hotrodholty Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 i had205/60 r13's on the back of my escy, 2"lowering blocks, standerd axle and even with the arches rolled under hard cornering/acelleration it still rubbed. without a tramp kit or panard rod they move a shit load, hence im now fitting a 105e axle, poly bushed, tramp bars, single leaves and the spax on the hardest settin
30psi MK2 CORTINA Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 it does look pretty close ! you can cut down on the amount of movement in the rear by fitting new bushes to eliminate flex.
hotrodholty Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 are them appliance 15", what axle you runnin mate? thanks
greenfordpop Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 There 7Jx13 wheel with big f##k off tyres on them! Axle wise its a Anglia 105E. greenfordpop AKA Barry
