Retromotorsport Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 It's been bought to my attention that some of you have your harness rear straps running vertical .. ie down the back of the seats. THIS IS DANGEROUS correct fitment for all straps
J_mk1 Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Should put all these diagrams that gary provides in the 'how to' section
mk1mexico Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Handy i started to look how i was going to fit mine this morning
FlashCadillac Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 iv no idea what the angle is as the car is in blackpool but how does down the gap between the back and bottom of the back seat sound Sh*t.... iv just realised something.... i was going to take the seat belts out and just use the harnesses.... but if i fasten them like this.... what happens if someone is sat in the back
Admin Vista Posted March 29, 2008 Admin Report Posted March 29, 2008 I'm forced to ask the question, why fit harnesses in a road car at all? Seat belts work and work well, why replace them with a harness if it's only for road use? Especially if you're not fully up on how to install them safely. Me I'll stick with my inertia reel belts that allow me to reach the stereo, fag lighter etc etc.

Rick Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 i opted for through the original anchor point in the rear inner arches, ya reckon thats a good angle. i didnt want to anchor it from the firewall as ... well its a flimsy piece of poo panel good post though retro personally i think the seatbelts law should be changed anyway... if my car was fitted with NO belts at all id definately take more care driving... as would the majority i reckon maybe a spike on the steering wheel too
caprinerd Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 if you buy a new harness then there should be a diagram showing the correct way. in my capper i run them at 45 degree angle and still have the rear seat in sit
caprinerd Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 just another quick note, in the banger racing game you dont mount them straight back, as if you get jacked hard the belt becomes loose

mk1mexico Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 just another quick note, in the banger racing game you dont mount them straight back, as if you get jacked hard the belt becomes loose But in a road accident you dont carry on
mk2_escort_chick Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 *waddles home to check my harnesses in Jelly*
