SEAT BELTS/HARNESSES

It's been bought to my attention that some of you have your harness rear straps running vertical .. ie down the back of the seats.

 

THIS IS DANGEROUS

Handy i started to look how i was going to fit mine this morning

iv no idea what the angle is as the car is in blackpool but how does down the gap between the back and bottom of the back seat sound

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sh*t.... iv just realised something....

 

i was going to take the seat belts out and just use the harnesses.... but if i fasten them like this.... what happens if someone is sat in the back

I'm forced to ask the question, why fit harnesses in a road car at all?

 

Seat belts work and work well, why replace them with a harness if it's only for road use? Especially if you're not fully up on how to install them safely.

 

Me I'll stick with my inertia reel belts that allow me to reach the stereo, fag lighter etc etc.

The capri isnt only for road use.... its getting a meatier power plant than first planned and its going to spend a lot of time on the strip aswell as on the road

i opted for through the original anchor point in the rear inner arches,

 

ya reckon thats a good angle.

 

i didnt want to anchor it from the firewall as ... well its a flimsy piece of poo panel

personally i think the seatbelts law should be changed anyway...

if my car was fitted with NO belts at all id definately take more care driving... as would the majority i reckon

 

maybe a spike on the steering wheel too

if you buy a new harness then there should be a diagram showing the correct way. in my capper i run them at 45 degree angle and still have the rear seat in sit
