mk3cokebottle Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Terry Davis will i reckon , he only needs wider tyres He is running 9" wide as it is, and they rub on the arches with two people in the car I think everyone trys too hard to get into the 9's, but without carlos fandango wheels sticking out of the arches, i dont think its going to happen i can get 10's if anyone wants em

kevmk2 Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 i fitted a cage a couple of weeks ago, just to add a bit more weight . But if you have lost 30kilo's in weight yourself, that will make up for it
Retromotorsport Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 i fitted a cage a couple of weeks ago, just to add a bit more weight . Ahh see theres the problem ... it takes let say 2000ft/lb to move 1000kg of car .. add 30kg and it will take 2500ftlb .. it was that extra 500 that snapped the housing welds Glad to hear your getting it sorted .. did you try to re twist the old axle ? Also.. fit a prop loop .. half up inside the tunnel and half below .. fit it where the rear seat cross brace is .... 5mm by 50mm wide .. hate to see a prop flip that Mk1 on its roof
MK2Ed Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 i fitted a cage a couple of weeks ago, just to add a bit more weight . Good move...
