Guest MK1gaz Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 My rear brake shoes on the passenger side had melted onto the rear drum . We've fixed it now though . Shame about the poxy rain but it gives us lot a chance against Kevs turbo though
RUSTYPUP Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Just got to Birmingham to stay with a mate tonight so I don't have to get up so early. Lost me fookin alternator belt on the M40. Managed to drive and sit in traffic for 1.5 hrs with no belt. Just gotta sort one for the morning

Toby Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Just got back. All sworn to secrecy but can report that Gaz's halfshalfts lasted!! Kev's car made some lovely noises, and it was a great day out with lots of revs and smoke from all!! Flippin' cold and a gale force head wind!! Nice to chat to Mad Mick who made it along too. Thanks Morley, Chris and Retro Ford for organising a great day out.

Either they're super strong 1100L halfshafts or it was the low grip tyres , no burnouts and the short shifting in 1st gear that saved them . More worrying was the lack of brakes for half the trip up and all the way home !!!!!!!!!!!

Foooooooooooking freezing up there though with a 50 mph headwind that makes it look like i've got a suntan !!!!!!! Some foooking physco 100mph drifting going on though which resulted in a tyre coming off the rim on one car !!!!!!!!!!
