Anglia68 Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 I had a good day today. I tried my BDG head (2ltr) onto my 1700cc block and found that the valves clear the bores by 0.25mm so that's a result. I never thought to check before. Then I put the crank into the block, assembled the pistons onto the rods and then fitted them to the crank. It turns over nicely by hand so I'm very happy.

Here's the BDA block with it's new steel crank, rods and flywheel and forged 83.5mm Cosworth pistons being built in my state of the art engine room.......or the doorway of my garage on a workmate as I like to call it.
Smudger105e Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 me wheel cleaning and baz105e (Burns' Bro) is changing the front oil seal on the 'Box
razersedge Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 been working on the fiesta all weekend dam thing has been kicking me in the nuts for months but it's finally running doesn't start every time because the starter motor keeps jammin but traced the problem to the engine because i've replaced the gearbox, startermotor, drive shaft's and disconected unimportant items like water pump and alternator drive shafts to test it but still had the prob so replaced the gearbox and it still does it so it'll ether sort it's self out or go bang but at least it's running at last
bigglesmk2 Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Just put my escort on a rota jig but the garage is just a tad too low to turn the car all the way over and because of the over hang of the garage front i cant push the jig out then turn car over Kinda defeats the object of having a jig
