If possible get a female fried or partner to go with you, as a female or couple at the door looks better and less threatening than a large or even not so large bloke on his own. Tom Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 also don't ask if its for sale straight away, ask what their plans are for it and try to get them talking about the car Than you could drop in that you'd be interested in buying it if they were to consider selling. oh and when you knock on the door stand a few steps back from the door so you're not right in their face when they answer

lotusless Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 i found a mk2 escort 2 door on a drive last month, tax ran out in 2002 rang one of the flat bells + a bloke said it was not his but leave a note. so thats what i did offering a good price + said i wasn't a scrap man or a banger racer, i have heard nothing i dont understand people who just leave these cars laying about for years instead of making some cash. i might try again soon whats the worst that can happen maybe a punch on the nose!
