Stu_B Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Autosol or similar!! I made a polishing tool up for my drill the other day using an old sock & a flappy paddle wheel worked ok untill it threw itself out of balance and started slapping me silly
geoffersmasher Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 any old wives tales??? Elbow grease is really effective. i can only buy this in liter cans and there expensive i was just wondeing if anyone had any secret sauce as it were as i wont get metal polish till i go to work tomorrow and i was wondering if there was anything around the hiuse people used ie vinegar and newspaper for windows also good idea stu but im missiong the flappy bit hope your face is ok after that pasting, you poor thing
Stu_B Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 ... was more of a polishing than a pasting...
geoffersmasher Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 well i have heard you are a bit buff and do polish up well
geoffersmasher Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 ask richsav im sure he will know i hear he uses turtle wax
FredTransit Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 full fat coca cola mate - trust me Surely you mean diet, it's the acetic acid that does the trick, the sugar would just leave a sticky film that would attract the dirt. BTW I have heard bicarb toothpaste is good in an emergency
jamesg Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 autosol on chrome, brasso on polished metal
johnny_h Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Remember autosol is abrasive so too much polishing and you will leave the chrome thin.
