took my car to the local wheel center to get my fronts balanced and tracked properly.

 

i was watching the lads working and noticed one scratching his head, then another came over, two head scratchers....

 

i thought bet theyve fooked up as we made eye contact

 

one toddles round...

 

'erm you got another wheel nut you aint got no thread on this one.....'

 

as you can imagine i wasnt best pleased that THEY had stripped it with a 4 foot breaker bar im not suprised.

 

got my balancing FOC anyway and didnt let them do the tracking but now i gotta get another set of nuts and send them the bill..,.

 

first and last time i use a 'professional'

so they'll be some nice new titanium, gold plated, diamond incrusted wheel nuts that your gettin. you wanna tell them they fooked the stud aswell so you also need new hubs and to change the hubs you need new wheels bearings

Had this with a LH thread on the transit. No problem they said, we'll get another one from Ford. Yeah right. They did get the nit, but couldn't get a stud. Luckily I had a spare at home, not the point they should have been more aware, it does have an L stamped on it ! Like you said Rick so much for the professionals!

live and learn. its my own fault really i knew they looked like nitwits but i wanted it done sooner rather than later.

 

probably the 'college graduate' types with their slip saying they can do the jobs.... the kind that get picked for jobs that i apply for

Exactly what happened to me. Just handed me the bit of stud and said this has snapped off

Fooking monkeys !!! A mate of mine has a genuine nova sport with a set of 14in GM euro sport alloys fitted, he took it to have some back tyres fitted and when it came to taking the wheel off it had coroaded to the hub and wouldent come off so kwik fit monkey boy takes a 2LB lump hammer to the inside of his priceless alloy wheels to knock them off !!!! Not happy doesnt start to cover it

ok, after I told the blokes at the tyre fitters NOT to use a rattle gun on my alloys they proceeded to use the bloody thing! I told them then & there to get my car off the rig, I will not be back and haven't since!
