ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 So, I went on a 15 mile mountain bike ride today and got back at about 3pm. The wife and daughter weren't in so I thought I'd treat them. I'd had a chocolate chip cookie after the ride in the cafe, so I thought I'd bake some (bear in mind I very rarely cook). Just after I'd finished and got them out of the oven, Sharon rings up to say she's at her mums for tea and I can come over if I like, or sort myself out. I'd just opened a beer, but I wanted to see their reaction, and be loved for a few minutes. So I goes down, play football with Amelia for bit then goes inside to sit down. When Sharon comes in, I get Amelia and say 'I've done something special for you at home. I've baked some chocolate chip cookies'. What does Sharon say? 'You could have done something constructive like tidy up or do the ironing'. Ok, would you A) Go all timid and say 'Oh I'm sorry dear, I will next time' Slap her round the chops and shout 'You ungrateful b*tch'. C) Get rather pissed off at her, have a row, storm home, throw the cookies in the bin, tidy up, bring the washing in, put the other washing out and do all the things she said you should have done which she brought up during the row then sit down and finish the beer you opened earlier.
Pipster007 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Option D - Take your daughter home, feed her with Choc Cookies and treat her to a trip to the cinema and let the wife stew
perry Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 do what any doris would do in that situation make a big fuss about how your underapreciated make lots of humph sounds pick up random objects and put them down making sure they make a loud noise get all emotional saying " why do i bother " itl leave her feeling guilty for absolutely no reason itl also make her feel soo guilty that she will feel too bad to eat said cookies leaving them all to yourself
perry Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 fook it file for divorce sell the house call a mate take said cookies round to mates house ( with the beers ) as you can live with him instead spend all night talking about how unjustified her reaction was and how your mate likes the cookies
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 I did C. Apart from throwing the cookies away. I don't want Amelia to miss out. It just pissed me off so much that she didn't even say 'Ah, that's a nice thought'. i think I'll wait for her to do some baking and I'll say exactly the same thing when I come home. She's not home yet, so there'll probably be fireworks when she does get back.

flyingbanana Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 so I thought I'd bake some (bear in mind I very rarely cook) sell the cookies on ebay would you buy them
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 11, 2006 Author Report Posted September 11, 2006 Well Amelia loved the cookies, but I've hardly spoken to Sharon. Still sulking at her
Slik 50 Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Sounds to me that she dosnt know whens she's on to a good thing! Look at it from a diffrent veiw: 1, You went out for a ride to try and keep your body in shape for the her. 2, When you got back she had gone out! 3, Your tea wasnt ready on the table for you, 4, Your bath wasnt ready, 5, When she did eventually call to let you know where she was, you find out shes isnt coming home to cook your tea, 6, You vaulenteraly went round to the mothering laws 7, You cooked a wholesome meal for the three of you. What does it take nowadays to be appreiciated ? but the wosrt thing was that sharon left the house to be cooked for, Leaving all the washing and cleaning herself. Talk about double standards
