Just stripped out the floor in my mk2 today ready to rub down and paint.

Driving to the take away in my flip flops. Took left one off and nearly burn my heel off on the floor, aargh!!!

Turns out just below floor by clutch is where exhaust splits one into two so that is obviously hot and so heats up the floor. How can I reduce the heat of the floor in the car?

Cheers, Paul.

Hey Antz same problem as mine, try looking round bulkhead, probably corroded and then running down back of heater under carpet and into footwell. Johnnyh thats a cracking idea bout the nan bread, must give it a go and report back!!!!!

I took mine off and left it off, looks a lot better. Stripped out floor looks pretty cool, especially when I get my bucket seats. Shame you do not klive nearer I could have helped you with the leak.

Talking to Paul at Tony Law Exhausts after he fitted mine last week, as I suffer from the same problem. Luckily it's the passenger floor that gets hot. He said don't use exhaust wrap unless you're wrapping stainless steel. He said the best thing would be the reflective sheet stuck to the underside of the floor.
