Fiesta Steve Posted February 12, 2006 Author Report Posted February 12, 2006 MINTER! wonder where you got that from? im missing it already steve im off to look at another one this week sometime, i'll let you know if i get it. Fiesta Steve Posted April 24, 2006 Author Report Posted April 24, 2006 Well I lowered the Sport today, the springs were -2" but it looks the same to me, lol I think its lowered more like 1 inch but to be honest I quite like it as it is and didn't want it to sit too low anyway so am quite happy. It handles much better too. In my vast experience of lowering cars the springs never drop the car as much as they say they do. And normally end up cutting them , but I think I'll leave these alone. I'll post some pics up later in the week so you can all laugh at how high it still sits It went straight through its MOT with no advisories or anything so well pleased about that. Thats all for now.

Fiesta Steve Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 I just converted the Fiesta from points to electronic ignition and fook me has it made a difference, its like a new car now !!! The car was having trouble starting wouldn't tick over very well and was generally just a bit rough running. I had a look at the dizzy and decided it was time to throw it in the nearest bin and fit some proper sparks I have a Bestek ignition kit fitted on my black XR2 and was well pleased with it and decided to get another. After speaking to Dave (fezza) who has just bought one for his escort he said we are such good customers that if he or any of his mates wanted another kit he'd do it at a top price. Quick phone call later from Dave to John at Bestek secures me a kit for £130 ! proper bargain The kit includes a new dizzy (not reconditioned) with new rotor arm and cap. New coil and the ignition amplifier. It is all pre-wired, all you have to do is supply a live feed and that is it !! Yep, just one wire. The whole kit took about less than an hour to fit inluding taking the old stuff off. It runs so much better now it really is unbeliveable, the timing is out as I just guessed it but even so the difference is unreal. It starts instantly and ticks over perfectly even from cold, something it never really done. It pulls top gear from 1000 rpm without trouble and has also giving me some more rpms at the top of the rev range. Could the old points have been bouncing ? I don't know. What I do know is that my car drives perfek now and doesn't use as much fuel either ! Why didn't I convert it a year ago
Mr Sam Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 youve convinced me steve ive GOT to get electronic ignition
