over_head_cam Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I wouldnt want admins job but it does seem that the minority who whinge and make the most noise get what they want.why does everybody get upset by what he says when they ask for everyones opinion about their cars?? they get pissy when people say its crap and not what they would do,would they rather us lie and say that the halfords body kit,bright pink paint,alloy spoilers,neons and the 17" spinners on their 105e looked cool?. everyones entitled to their own opinions at the end of they day. some love marmite others hate the stuff,but should they get banned for saying so?? I always thought his posts were funny and aimed at winding people up. he gave as good as he got too,many,many people posted stuff just to wind him up,but did he complain to admin? Oh well the forums a little bit boring now Lets clarify a few thing if we can... Can you tell me the minority who are whingers? He certainly knows what he's writing, when it comes to old Fords and he has helped me more than once regarding advice for my project. I sent him some PMs and he answered with the measures/pictures I needed to continue my project, which was a great help. These PMs has also been removed from my in/outbox which I find a little weird ???? Does anyone know how to get in touch with Gaz ?

Incessantly. He annoyed me (and others I know) by telling me that all Anglia boys think the Pinto is a sh!t engine. I never said that. He constantly criticised others' cars and choice of power (did Gaz ever say anything constructive about a Zetec engine, even one that was well set up?) I am sure he did and said far more then any individual (except Admin) read on the forums. I do not know (and do not really want to know) the full story. If he stuck to the helpful, constructive and funny threads, there would have been no problem I am sure, but there were not enough of these... Although I didn't have a huge issue with him, and I didn't make any complaints about him to Admin, I have to say good riddance, and I hope he has a happy life, because I have to agree with some of the previous posters, he had more wind-up threads than constructive threads on here. He knew the rules, he knew he had been warned by a temp ban, he made his own bed and he has to lie in it. with a smiley face! Admin are here to keep the site what it is, and we have to trust their decisions, opinions and actions. After all, no-one else has been banned recently, have they?[/i]

The whingers who PM'd admin complaining is who i imagined the minority who wanted him gone,as most of this thread seems to suggest that most got wound up by him at some point but not enough to want him gone. sometimes when an admin gets involved it starts to feel like school. soon it will be you cant call "4 doors crap and not worthy of a 2 door" before you get banned/deleted everyones look seems to be on the single minded "different" is better approach,thats not always the best look and people only want to hear a "reflection" of their own opinions. And like school "they" run to the teachers complaining. Same goes for the "new is better" with engines,pintos do go well at the pod and most tracks. Zetecs are rubbish,I know,I've got one,compaired to pintos,even Xflows and that argument will upset people who have spent loads of money on a conversion. from what i can see most of his posts were ment in good fun. feels like we have to walk on egg shells from now on in case we upset people and get banned. that said,we dont know the full story.

Or anyone else for that matter? Admin are involved every single day, and in every post. And how abou NOT saying things to people if it is just to say what they've chosen is considerd by you to be rubbish? I know it's sometimes difficult to remember, but at the end of every post is a real actual person But in all fairness to you this line sums it up entirely "that said,we dont know the full story." Please, remember that we are here to keep the site running and arrange all the meets, shows, merchandise etc etc and to keep the site running within certain boundries. If we ask you to keep within those boundries, please do NOT give us abuse , or sarcy comments. Gaz had several warnings about his conduct and chose to ignore them

And exchange ponits of views and discuss issues an help with problems and maybe sell and buy parts within the forum and its users? Now i only know Gaz from on here,And i know some of his points of views and his way of putting them across sometimes upset or infuriated some people. . . Well if you argue you get a reponse, if you dont like what someone is saying/ writting ignore it. the person will soon get board. I believe Gaz puts across some excellent points of view.......And also has helped me no end..I have also sold parts to him and bought parts from him. Now i believe that at times he can be very argumentative and he is set in his ways, But why people take things to seriously But i have been on this site since the begining and banning someone for there point of view just seems so childish.... I believe as someone else has said, The manner of someones driving at of our meets and or in an inappropriate manner with kids about and increasing the possiblity of losing the places where we like to meet up, is more to the detriment of the website that 1 persons keyboard antics. I fully respect all the admin staff and know they have a job to do. But me personally believe that the wrong decision has been made and if we are starting to ban people we need to get the priorties right and maybe a warning system under the username so everyone can see who been a naughty boy. But its your shout but i say bring back the sutton one!! I do not envy the administrators jobs and I am amazed he was found to be as offensive as he was??? He always put smiley faces on his posts and that must mean they were to be taken in jest. In the banned thread you told him smiley faces dont make his chat funny - but it does give a clue that they weren't meant. One last thing - my other half always says to me "how does my blar blar look" I answer honestly - what if someone grafted a Robin Reliant front end onto their escort and asked for our opinion - do we only leave the answering to the peoople who like said convertion!! I would rather someone told me I had a bogey hanging off the end of my nose than let me walk around with it all day.

Fookin drama queen is what he called him and it's a case off "it's my toy and i'll say who can play with it " . Gaz approached the mods at the ace cafe when he got suspended the other month and they told him that it was because he told "overhead cam" that all he done on the site is nag and moan at people and contribute nothin to the forum . Ever since then "overhead cam" has had it in for him and was desperate to get rid of Gaz ASAP cos Gaz keep making him look stupid in public with his quick witted replys . This is the truth of the matter and not some deep seated evil that the mods are trying to conjur up . Gaz will be at all the meets as usual and won't be hiding from the oldskoolford forum police

But if, as has been said, there are a number of complaints about him, or he is upsetting people then he has to go. He was a given a fair number of chances (as far as i can understand) to "correct" what admin deemed to be unacceptable and he didnt. So, in the eyes of admin, he must go. I didnt have a problem with an ything he said on the forum, but, again, you dont know what goes on behind the scenes. Whatever the routcome, the admin have made a decision collectivly to remove him... thay have all the information and are therefore best placed to take the decision.

I didnt know him at all!! And as everyone who has met him has nothing but praise for him, I can guess that in the flesh, he is a thoroughly nice fella. But from the first day I was told about signing up for the forum, I read lots and lots of posts on here where he appeared to have a `my way or the highway` approach to most other opinions, which was only going to get him in trouble sooner or later. I again, as so many other people on this post already have... would like to support the admin team for dealing with the flac I have no doubt, they knew they would receive when the decision was made. When this dies down (sometime soon hopefully), We can get back to the business of cars:). I thank you
