why does mozilla crash every time i visit osf?

i get that error message- has encountered a problem and needs to close. if i just move it out the way i can continue browsing, but if i click send or dont send it closes and i have to start again.

 

internet explorer has started doing it when i check my hotmail account too.

 

ive tried reinstalling the programmes from fresh installation programmes but i end up with the same problems (albiet they behave for a day or two).

 

and ideas?- ps ive run loads of spyware and virus scans to no avail (mcafee, spybot, adaware and spy eraser)

This will be a problem with your PC. I'm a Firefox user and don't have any problems at all. However, I use a Mac, not a PC. It's one of those errors that is near impossible to pin down without seeing the problem happen, and then check what's running at the time.

 

It might be that you need to wipe everything and re-install windows.

 

And that is the reason why I moved away from the PC to the lovely Mac...

well im not doing that again! ive got too much on the harddrive to back it all up! id need to go and buy an external drive bigger than the one i have in the laptop already...

install the new version of firefox... if it's not out yet google 'firefox 3 beta'... and install that bad boy... will sort you out!

 

my old firefox got buggy and my computer tech mate advised me as i just advised you!

i've used the old firefox and now use the new firefox on xp without a problem

it could be a PM trying to open a popup window?

some security systems close the browser down if they susspect a virus, even if it aint a virus, i stopped using Norton for that very reason

well iv upgraded to the firefox 3 and everything seems ok for now, no more crashing, yet....
