badchild Posted July 29, 2008 Author Report Posted July 29, 2008 I'd rather have a bullshitter than a dangerous liar though ther's a fella keeps calling round for like a small clip or washer or something stupid, the day i got my avo stuff home, now i hadn't even got the stuff in the shed! He called round and said im here to buy a couple of escort bits off your da, mind if i look through the stuff??? errrr no they're mine. he called round for a switch and proceeded to haggle for my rolltop recaros, front grill and a back seat. No. No. No.
RFChris Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Pah, try drving my car anywhere..... "Nice JPS mate" FOOK. RIGHT. OFF. It's an 'S'. And then what do i get? Well, i get the obligatory "No it isn't", like they're educating me or something. Confusing it for a JPS I can live with, it's an easy mistake to make. TELLING ME, the OWNER, what they THINK it is, well, that really gets my goat.
Tom Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 apparently mine's not 'proper' anymore as its got a vauxhall engine in it
60ftman Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 apparently mine's not 'proper' anymore as its got a vauxhall engine in it Quite right! Putting a Vauxhall engine in a Ford is the automotive equivalent of cross-dressing!
jamie k Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 most middle age balding man that pass me by in town seem to say to there friends wife kids ect either , "proberly a 1600 look the age of him " "must be a 2 litre s" "i remember the good old capri ghias" and no matter were you go you always meet the old boys giving it "i had 4 of them, memba bag of cement in the boot cos av seen many o them wrote aff ya know" best of it is a couldnt fit a grain of sand in for the (that will come in handy al leave that in the boot) tools
TwoLitrePinto Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 how many people have told me to put a bag of cement or sand in the boot ive lost count, if i wanted to do that, i wouldnt have stripped the interior out!!! maybe some people like the back floating around some people just cant handle the back end can they?
5hane Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Pah, try "Nice JPS mate" FOOK. RIGHT. OFF. It's an 'S'. i woud atually think it was a jps well give em a break it does look like one but when you tell them its an s and they say no.. what twats lol
mk2_escort_chick Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 apparently mine's not 'proper' anymore as its got a vauxhall engine in it Thats a lil extreme! I must admit I like Ford engines in Fords, but...I wouldn't turn my nose up at someone else's car just because its got something a lil different in it. You've still gotta appreciate the amount of time, effort and money that has gone into it
5hane Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 apparently mine's not 'proper' anymore as its got a vauxhall engine in it no its not its a cosworth
rich_mkii_rs2000 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 I have been told the bag of cement thing loads of times. I think it is more the fact that the advice givers back then were running their fords on a budget and fitting Nankang ditchfinders on the back.
escortmad79 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Ahhh but years ago Street Machine or Custom Car featured a purple mk1 which had an RS nosecone fitted! It looked pants
oldbus Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 The germans are just as thick. We get nearly every day when we´re out with the van "nice looking VW you´ve got there, we used to have one like that" or "did you know that a Porsche will bolt straight in"... er yeah, ...NO IT`S NOT A FÖÖKING VW, IT`S A FORD!!!
Josh_gsy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 ive had a half an hour argument with someone that races rs1600i escort type thing up the hill about the fact that anglia did not come with 2.0 pinto. nor did my cortina, i explained that its possible to put a pinto in a anglia but, its not standard. he refused to believe me so i told him you could also buy them with an essex v6 in.
FredTransit Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I was told by an AA man at the weekend that the (pants) VV standard carb only came out on the transit Mk4 for the pinto. Which is odd cos we bought a brand new Mk2 pinto powered transit in 1986 and it came with a VV.......
Noodles Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I got told it was a waste of time racing cars like mine up the strip by the guy I had to wait 3 hours for on a Thursday night in the middle of Chatham for when I broke down. Not the best moment to be picking a fight
FredTransit Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Best way I find to get a quick recovery out of the AA is to tell em you are a mechanic, if you are sure your car is stuffed, it cuts out all the waiting for a patrolman THEN a recovery truck!
D4N Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 A kid came up to me and said whoa its got nos!!! Replyed Nah its a fire fire extinguisher and he just walked away We have had. IS IT A REALY RS!!!??? Nope converted mexico to RS. Just says ohh and talks about the old cars he has had..
